Called admissions office this morning and they said April 15th.

Is U Mich the only school out there that hasn’t sent out all of its notifications?

Man, I am still waiting on my decision.
I’m a transfer student with 67 credits from a local cc with a 4.0 and lots if professional experience.
I hear that since I haven’t heard back in the first week, I will probably be deferred. It’s killing me. Michigan is my first choice.
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Snwboarderz, you sound good to me. That’s how my son got in. Do your classes pertain to the college at which you applied? Did you complete the pre-requisites that UM wants you to have prior to transfer?

Best wishes that you get good news soon!

Rejected from UMich a weighted 3.67 GPA but 4.14 in senior first semester. He has a 34 in ACT and 2200 in SAT and an AP scholar award for the three 5s he got so far in AP classes. He is taking 4 AP this year. What on earth is going on? People with lower credentials have gotten in. IS THERE ANY HOPE BY MEETING WITH COLLEGE ADMISSIONS AT THIS POINT?

^ Is he in state? What is his uw GPA? UMich values heavily on GPA. Average uw GPA is around 3.7. Did he apply to LSA or CoE?

3.67 weighted GPA indicates an unweighted GPA of in the 3.3-3.4 range, which is very low for UMich. This is why he was rejected.

The average uw GPA for admitted students is actually 3.83, and that was last year. It’ll be slightly higher this year.

Anyone hear today at 5:00? Thought decisions would come through today…but we didn’t hear anything. Maybe Monday, April 15? Did anyone get a decision today?

Nothing :/

Still haven’t heard anything about my admission decision. This is so nerve wracking, when is the last day for admission decisions?

Akfirefly said april 15th and they have been saying mid april so I would assume and hope tomorrow.

I just called. A very nice lady told me because of the high application volume they are still processing apps and that they will all hopefully be out sometime this week. She said it could possibly be before friday.

My application was sent on october 29th, the last thing they received from me was on February 2nd. Still no decision…

My son is hoping to transfer and still no word…

I wad Rejected.

I’m sorry, Dying. :(

Sorry for all who did not get thedecisions they wanted. I am a U Mich alum and I am very unhappy with the way things have been handled. It is astounding that people are still waiting for a decision. Really disrespectful!

@billcsho, @entenduintransit: I said it wrong earlier. He has 3.67-3.7 Unweighted GPA. Weighted is higher. 12th first sem is 4.14 weighted. He is in-state. Any thoughts on REAPPLYING I keep hearing here? I heard some folks reapplied to a different faculty after deferral? How do you do that? Mine was rejected from LSA with the stats already posted. Here it is again: He has a 34 in ACT and 2200 in SAT and an AP scholar award for the three 5s he got so far in AP classes. He is taking 4 APs this year (AP CALC, AP PSYCH, AP SPANISH, AP CHEMISTRY).

@dlambert, what do you mean reapplying? When did you do that? I heard from school counselor that switching programs (i.e. applying to one faculty to get in easier and then switching to more in demand field etc) is strictly prohibited at U of M. Obviously that’s wrong info it seems! Please share what you did/when you did regarding reapplying…thanks in advance.

I applyed to engineering. I got deferred, so I contacted the admissions rep for my area and requested to transfer my application to LSA. And I got in!
