This just makes me want it all the more!

Anyone know if they email international replies? I live overseas and I am coming back to the states for Christmas on the 18th and I doubt I would get a letter in 3 days. My experience is that it can take a week to get mail…

I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to live in Indiana. I should find out soon after they mail.

you’re so lucky! Haha but I guess michigan isn’t that far away either.

do you guys think there is any chance they sent out the decisions today?

I wonder if the mail is even running today with the big snowstorm they just had in the area!

Irishevan, since you’re so close, you’ll have to let us know everyday whether anything arrived in your mail so we can estimate when we’ll hear further away.

Going to the mailbox is so stressful now because if you don’t see any big packet, then you have to dig through all the letters to see if you were rejected/deferred or maybe it hasn’t come in the mail yet! I know for me it’s super nerve racking :/

I am new to this so any help would be appreciated
Does anyone know what the qualifications for a notre dame scholar are and how they determine who gets them?
Is there a thread to see the results for all of the applicants?

Golf, I don’t know the answer to your first question, but as to the second, people can post their results and stats in this thread once the letters start arriving, or we can start a new thread that’s simply for stats. Guess we’ll see what everyone wants to do when the time comes!

if they follow the path they took last year, then the letters will go out in the mail tomorrow

I believe that i heard they were sending out tomorrow. Which means I should hear on friday. I am so nervous. I haven’t slept in days.

I have heard so many different dates for mailing the decision I have given up trying to know when to expect news. I guess it doesn’t really change anything anyway. Since I actually live in Indiana I’ll probably hear slightly earlier, and I’ll tell everyone on CC if someone hasn’t already.

Don’t international students typically find out a few days earlier than the American students?
I live by St. Louis so would that mean two days after they mail them for me?

I also live in saint Louis and I REALLY hope that doesn’t mean two more days!

Well I hope they let us know by email before everyone else, otherwise I’ll be waiting awhile. Plus it could be a bit awkward having my friend coming to open my acceptance letter

notification letter i mean haha

My mom called the undergraduate admissions office and they said i wouldnt get my letter until next week, and i live in illinois, so im not so sure they are as on top of things this year…

I am a parent of a daughter who applied EA. I have been lurking on this thread for awhile. My daughter is so busy she does not have time to dwell on the news that is coming, but I am sure it is always in the back of her mind and occasionally driving her crazy.

Good luck to all of you who have applied and are waiting on your news and good luck to you other parents out there who are sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear how things will turn out for your child.

Since we visited UND last spring, I have kept one of those composite postcards that they sell in the bookstore on my refrigerator. At the top of all the images of campus is a picture of Touchdown Jesus. I use the postcard to remind me to say a prayer for my daughter that she gets into the best possible college for her. For the next few days, I will use it to remind me to say a prayer for all of us swimming in anxiety, that we will all be given the grace of patience, wisdom, and perspective. Anyone who has applied to this school, or any similarly competitive college, has already proven that they are capable and gifted. Whether the news that is coming brings elation, more waiting, or disappointment, the day after you get your letter, you will still be the same amazing kid, with a bright future waiting.

Peace to all.

THAT was beautifully said! Thanks for the uplifting words, and for reminding us all that we define who we are, not an acceptance/decline letter from a college.

Rckpgh-I’m a mom too and can’t agree with you more. There is a place for everyone in this college adventure, so just take your time and enjoy the ride. Like a rollercoaster, there are the ups and downs, but once its all over, its just pure fun. Enjoy the ride, make the most of it and remember, where one door closes, a window will open. Look for the Windows in Life!
