Official EA 2010 Stress-Out Thread

What a great story to hear while going into admission decision season  Congrats to your son! Hopefully we’ll all be joining him :)

it sounds like ND must send out the decisions on the 15th, or at least did last year if you look at the thread from last year that someone posted. that means that in a week or so we all find out. here’s to hoping they send out decisions a little earlier this year than last.

Just a note to all those applying EA…keep in very close contact with your local (State and or Regional and International) admissions councelors. If you have not had contact with them yet…do so ASAP. They have very good insight on the admission process. Your admissions councelor will be your advocate in the process. Get to know them well and let them have the best insight on who you are and why you can be a great fit for Notre Dame. They all are waiting to see your passion for attending this place…believe me. Our Son’s admissions councelor was incredible and we are very sure she was an intergral part of the journey that got him his dream of admission to the incoming class of 2010.

Does anyone know what all the letters look like? Does ND go for the standard big acceptance and small rejection/deferral?

In the past, they have sent the “big white envelope” to those accepted! In my daughter’s year there was an open window with a very poignant statement and picture. I won’t say what, just that it was very engaging. It was a big day when that envelope was in the mailbox…a Saturday if I am not mistaken. Maybe tomorrow???

Good luck to all starting this great journey! My daughter is now a senior at ND and it has been the ride of a lifetime. Fantastic and memorable…but all too fast!

Peace!

counting days…the problem is not knowing how many days are left lol :]

^I know! The suspense is killing meeeeeeeee!!!

I have a freshman at ND and a daughter who is hoping to be accepted EA this year. Last year’s envelope was just as Irishcali described, and it was the best Christmas present ever. Hoping for another one this year! Last year, ND mailed EA letters on Tuesday, Dec 15, and my daughter received hers on Thursday, Dec 17.

If you don’t mind me asking, what region of the country do you live in? I just wanna judge the delivery time. I’m from MI

We live in Maryland

Hopefully all the snow we will be getting over the course of the next few days in the Midwest doesn’t screw up delivery times!

i live in MD too. i’m hoping/planning to get my letter by the 18th…6 days!!!

Next week can’t come soon enough. I’m praying for that letter…so nervous. I’m really hoping not to get deferred, either. I would hate to wait even longer!

My D was accepted EA last year and we recieved the white large envelope around December 18. My guess is that decision will land in mail boxes on Friday. Notre Dame is an amazing school and in my opinion worth the cost. We have been very happy. Good Luck to all.

anyone have an idea when decisions will arrive in CA? los angeles area specifically

it sounds like it boils down to one of two things. either theyre married to sending it out on the tuesday of this week as they did last year, meaning the 14th this year, or theyre married to sending it out on the 15th. so at the earliest, were hearing the 16th, 17th, and at worst were hearing the 17th, 18th

Hopefully it will get over the mountains and through the woods in an expedient manner!!! Sometimes mail here in Montana takes forever!

ooh the suspense! anyone know how long the letters take to get across the Pacific?

I’m a sophomore and I found out Dec. 15. My mail usually takes a long time but then again its been a few years since when I found out so not as accurate as last year.
I don’t think the snow is going to be a major issue its not overwhelming in South Bend at the moment ;)

This is going to be a rough week! I’m so thankful that I do not have exams tho!
