Me too I’m crossing my fingers for that post tomorrow! :D

It would make my year if there is someone from northern or middle indiana post. I have so many friends and acquaintances from all over indiana on speed dial so I can talk to them right after school tomorrow.

not sure why more people don’t simply call the office of undergrad admissions…

i called yesterday afternoon (was expecting the letter wednesday)

they said “we are mailing friday” as sternly and politely as possible (i guess)

i am going to call again today just to see if i get the same response because mailing friday is very very late meaning most of us wont see our verdicts until early to mid next week.

if someone calls please post your response, i wouldnt doubt that they would give different dates due to the “secrecy” of receiving the decision.

Sorry Golf308, but I have no idea if my daughter’s friend is correct, I’m just relaying his statement that letters will go out today (Thursday). He has a work study assignment in the admissions office. Like someone mentioned in an earlier post, I will be checking posts to see when South Bend kids get their letters. Last year, decisions were mailed on a Tuesday, South Bend kids and some students in the suburbs of Chicago got their letters on Wednesday, and my daughter received hers on Thursday. Really hoping that all of you hopefuls on this thread will receive good news soon!

NotreDame14, I think they probably do give different dates. My mom called a week ago and they said they weren’t mailing until the 20th at least. Other people heard that it would be shortly before Christmas. I think most likely plms’s is correct and most of us will hear tomorrow or Saturday.

It’s a shame my ipod can’t get on to the school’s network otherwise I’d be stalking this thread all day.

If what I was told is correct, letters will be mailed out tomorrow, Friday.

Good Luck!

I don’t understand why they feel the need for such secrecy. This is really making me angry and our mail is already messed up for the week because of all the ice in the area.

my gut feeling is that the mail went out yesterday, and that this afternoon we’ll see some responses on this thread from indianna area boys and girls

^ I agree with you bballman and I will be so happy if the first person posts their acceptance this afternoon.

The letter I got awhile ago indicating that my application was complete definitely says to contact Notre Dame if I have not received a decision by December 21st (next Tuesday). If we assume that Notre Dame’s goal is to minimize the number of calls they receive from frantic applicants and parents wondering why they havn’t received anything, then we can conclude that Notre Dame’s goal would be to have everyone receive the letters at least a couple days earlier than the 21st, which in mail terms would be Saturday, so as to account for rogue mailing situations, snowstorms, people simply not checking the mail on a daily basis, etc. So basically what I’m saying is that hopefully they sent them out yesterday, or today at the very latest.

I really hope they sent them yesterday or today, because I have to check for my letter in two different addresses :/

tqsmntasp - Good point - at least someone is thinking rationally. The letter did say to contact ND if no word by Dec. 21st. I agree that they would not risk 1000+ phone calls. We all should know by Monday, at the latest. Good luck!

Like I said, everything I’m hearing and that I’ve read points to them sending things out either yesterday or today. I’m hoping it was yesterday.

I’d stage a Rudy marathon until my answer comes, but it’ll make negative results that much harder to handle…

Nothing in today’s mail in Montana…maybe a novena is in order!!!

It’s snowing here in Maryland!! No School. Now i get to stay home all day and freak out about my ND letter! X)

No school today
but no letter either :-(

Snow day here in Northern KY too. I’m obsessively looking out the window for the mail to come haha.

nothin in Northern KY yet :/

it should arrive in indianna a day before everywhere else, so im mostly waiting on reports from someone from indianna
