Official EA Countdown Thread!

Lauren, I’m with you. I am one of the most sarcastic people EVER, and I love being around other sarcastic people. I like to sharpen my wit. :)

Awesome. I seriously adore sarcastic people too. My favorite teacher and I can easily fill an entire class with back-and-forth sarcastic banter.

And every guy I’ve ever had more than a passing interest in has been super sarcastic too. I’m really hoping I’ll find more people like me at college, because I’ve just about exhausted the supply back home!

Dont feel bad, I describe myself with the words mordant, caustic, and acerbic.

Geez…everynight at some point, I invariably dream about Georgetown. This is getting rediculous! Last night, I was reading Sports Illustrated (in the dream) and every few pages, I would see an ad for Georgetown apparell. Hopefully a good omen?

Yeah, I’ve had my share of dreams about the 15th. In all of them I get in, so hopefully that’s a good sign.

5-7 days!!! I can’t believe its less than a week!

i’m too nervous to dream about anything real…

I’m so nervous, I feel queasy. And it’s still 5-7 days away!!

I would really love to get my letter the 13th, but I know that that’s unrealistic. So I’m hoping for the 14th (a valid possibility), but waiting for the 15th (so if it comes the 14th, I’ll be pleasantly surprised!).

Same, Calidan. Except I’m seriously hoping for the 13th and expecting the 14th. If they truly mail them the 10th (Why do we think the 10th? Did someone confirm this?) then I should get it the 13th, because DC to NY can’t be more than 2 days, right? Are you as nervous as I am? It’s so hard to concentrate these days (but at least all my tests are done! YAY!! Took my sixth one today.)

Well they cant mail them out any later than Fri. the 10th b/c Admissions is closed on Sat. and mailing them out on Mon. the 13th would be too late to get them all by the 15th. So the 10th is the latest they could mail them. They could have even been mailed earlier. At this point im thinking it might be in my mail box any day from now until next wed.

Ok, that makes sense.

Here- I copied this from the Columbia board. :)

<a href=“Time since Dec 13, 2004 3:00 am started in Seattle”>Time since Dec 13, 2004 3:00 am started in Seattle;

Or, if the letters come on Wednesday…

<a href=“Time since Dec 15, 2004 3:00 am started in Seattle”>Time since Dec 15, 2004 3:00 am started in Seattle;

OMG Lauren I was about to post a link to that! And yes, I am as nervous as you!

Congrats on finishing your tests! Except that now you have nothing to take your mind off of December 15th… Today, I realized that it was exactly one week until I will definitely get my notification- I wasn’t able to pay attention at all in Economics because of this.

:( I’m so scared!!! Starting monday of next week, I am going to be waiting outside of my house at 1:30 everyday (we get our mail at approx. 1:30) for the mailman.

EDIT: here’s also a link for the 14th, because that’s pretty much when I’m expecting it.

<a href=“Time since Dec 14, 2004 2:00 pm started in Seattle”>Time since Dec 14, 2004 2:00 pm started in Seattle;

Calidan- You know what they say about great minds…

Anyway you’re totally right about not having something to distract me. It’s amazing- as soon as I finished that test, I suddenly switched from being super super stressed about the tests to being super super nervous about Gtown. I should be finishing my Stanford app right now but I’m too damn nervous to concentrate on it!!

And please oh please let the letter come Monday. Even if it’s a deferral, I at least will be put out of my miserary!

Yeah, I think the not knowing is worse than a deferral (well, maybe not…).

i’m hoping desperately for the 13th and thinking it’ll come around January. lol…urgh.

if it does come on time and doesn’t get lost in the mail or whatnot, my grandparents will be here when the decision arrives…now, these people emigrated from Russia during the Soviet Union years…if I don’t get in they will be severely disappointed and when Russians are severely disappointed well…you don’t hear the end of it…

well guys, this day has finally come. The decisions are being turned over to the Postal Service tomorrow. They will be out of Georgetown’s hands.

Just knowing that right now they’re all sitting in some pile makes me even more anxious. They’ve already decided whether I’m in or not, but the wait is excruciating. Hopefully I get in, so I don’t have to fuss over my RD schools too much. (Plus, because it’s Georgetown!)

What’s the count down to now, 4-6 days, right? The clock is ticking…

Hey shark, you think it would have been better if we applied with another major besides government, like a more obscure one? They prob get tons of gov people.

no no! it’s far too late to retroactively hit yourself for your application stats!
