I’m in MS in the united states but I’m at a magnet school.

I figure that being in the dumbest state in the union doesn’t make me a priority for NU’s decision release process D:

@holycrapkaytee: ■■■■■. Dumbest state in the union? Oh my.

@adambedford: Ah! Spain and now the UK! That’s cool! Are you an IB student, A-Levels, or do you happen to be doing the American system? I study in an american school in Khartoum, Sudan. Happen to know what that place is? Most folk don’t seem to.

So I checked my email not expecting anything being from Wisconsin, and there wasn’t an email. So then I checked the spam folder, and the first message is from NorthWESTERN haha. Uggggggggggggggh!

@MoeMalik yup. Mississippi has one of the worst public education systems in the country. Thank goodness for college prep schools.

I wanna know!!!1! NOW!!!1!

Decisions are ready!

So, I know I havent been great at posting these past few weeks but its for a good reason. We received over 11,500 early action applications and the entire staff has been focused on evaluating each and every one. Today, I am happy to report that we are ready to release these decisions.

We release decisions electronically, through our Application Status Check system. We started at 3pm and are releasing based on geographic locations. If you applied early action, you will be receiving an email announcing that your decision was available and with instructions on how to view your official decision letter through the Application Status Check.

For early action, we release three types of decisions:

Deferral: The Admission Committee chose to defer candidates when we felt we needed additional time to review their applications within the regular decision pool. A deferral decision in no way reduces a candidates chances for admission. We encourage you to submit second quarter/mid-year grades, any recent standardized test results that we may not have received as well as any additional information about new academic or personal achievements. Your applications will be re-evaluated in the regular decision pool and a final decision released by March 31.

Denial:The Admission Committee did chose to deny a small number of applicants who we did not feel were a good academic or personal fit at Northeastern. While we regret disappointing you at this time of the year, we hope you will use this time to talk with your parents/guardians about your goals and explore your options. If Northeastern is still your dream school, please contact our admission staff for advice on our transfer process or other academic programs that may be a good fit for your goals.

Admission: Congratulations and welcome. Please log onto the myNEU Admitted Student Portal for more information about Northeastern and invitations to special events. If you were admitted into the Honors Program, that information will be in your decision letter. If you received a scholarship, you will receive a letter from Financial Aid in your Application Status Check.

If you have questions about your decision, our staff is ready to assist. You may contact your Admissions Representative by calling 617.373.2200. You may also contact Financial Aid at 617.373.3190.

Until next time, I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season!

@MoeMalik: I was doing A levels, but now I’m taking a gap year. And yeah, I know where the Sudan is, I have a few African friends, although they are from the south, SA and Zimbabwe!

You haven’t heard anything yet have you?! I’m going crazy over here.

This wait is killing me!

@adambedford: Ooh, glad to hear you know Sudan! And yeah, I got me a couple of African friends myself other than the ones I know here - Most of them are in Egypt though! Isn’t going to international schools the best? I love how I know so people from a ridiculous amount of countries.

And no, I haven’t heard anything! I think I should just go to bed and see what the decision is when I wake up, because I’m positive we won’t find out for a couple of hours. It’s 1 AM here, too. But until I actually do go to sleep, I’m just going to and drown myself in some more music. Lupe Fiasco and The Beatles, here I gooooooo.

Has anyone from Vermont heard yet???

From RI got in. Got a $12000 Excellence Scholarship for first year, $6000 per semester for upperclass years. And got into Honors College.

@MoeMalik Lupe drowning=<3

Still nothing in MS.

@MoeMalik: Yeah international school is great - good preparation for all the different people we’ll meet at university!

Its only 10pm here but I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep until I know the decision so hopefully it will be available soon - I’m meant to be getting up early tomorrow ha!

Accepted from central Connecticut
i got a lovely letter too

56k scholarship (14k /year)

Apparently I was deferred. I suppose it’s better than a denial… :)

Connecticut is in then we are getting closer to NY

@benellis- what were your stats??

yah if you dont mind telling us

@benellis what were your stats?

what time of day do they send the emails? -from new york anxious to here! hopefully by tomorrow! (along with my other two EA schools).

The Northeastern website says that they began releasing the e-mails today at 3:00 and will continue releasing them by geographic areas. They didn’t say the order of the geographic areas or when they will be done.

i just looked benellis up who supposedly got deferrred…it seems that he had a 1360 SAT (Just CR + Math)…thats worrisome that someone with that high SAT got deferred
