would NU defer just because you may not qualify for your first choice major?

@samjillian - Yeah, I gotta agree with you there - It makes absolute no sense to me that you would get deferred. I’m honestly really shocked. It’s a shame you didn’t get in at the moment, but keep your head up since I’m positive you’ll definitely get in as an RD now.

Decision - deferred. Maybe not enough variety in the extra curric’s? They’re all performance based. Probably not her first choice anyway, but glad we’re still in with a chance, just in case.

@Chasma what major did your daughter apply to?

Son deferred: 29 ACT, 3.1UW, 3.5W, pennsylvania, applied to Business, tennis for EC

how much interest in the school did you all show?

@maine930 - soo true. my confidence has went down tremendously after reading that. NU becoming way more selective this year or what?

sorry, didn’t mean to worry anyone. There must be something missing, is all. I think maybe my daughter is not well-rounded enough for them, you know? She’s super smart, but she lives and breathes theatre, dance, etc. I wouldn’t panic. I see that most people have a great deal of variety in their extra currics.

does anyone know how much a college visit and professor meeting helps your chances of admittance?

will northeastern defer a student just because they would not be admitted to their first choice major? would he/she still be admitted with a change in major?
