That’s really weird, it seems like you could even get the 20k scholarship! Maybe it just hasn’t showed up yet… But if you actually need it maybe you’ll get a bunch of $ in aid? I hope so! It’s gonna be really hard for me to afford too, that might be a deal breaker :frowning:
But good luck!
(maybe you should call in…)

Yeah I’m in the same situation. I have pretty decent scores, but I guess not enough to get a scholarship. It said the most financial aid they can give me is like $2,500/year… So I’d be pay around $50,000. That’s way too much for me to afford =( it might be a dealbreaker.

ACCEPTED! from california! so excited my first choice CAN NOT WAIT. what a big day. looking forward to meeting you all on welcome day february 20th!

Yeah I can’t wait to see my aid package… does anyone know when those will come out if you didn’t get your CSS in by Dec.1?

Accepted :Psychology Major
Gender:Female
Ethnicity: Black
State: Florida
SAT:2060
ACT:29
National Achievement Semifinalist
National Merit Commended Student
AP Scholar

Total Financial Aid Award For The Year: $49,050
Total Cost Of Attendance: $54,078

Translation: I probably can’t attend unless I happen to become a national achievement semifinalist and Northeastern gives me a full scholarship for that. BU offered me $55,000 this year in financial aid and I’ll probably go with that and attend BU

P.S.- Wasn’t offered a spot in the honors college

blondie47,

If you didn’t fill out the CSS then you’ll have to wait until after you fill out the FAFSA. I don’t know if this is true or not but in my opinion I think it’s not good that you didn’t fill out the CSS because as far as I know that’s a required financial aid document for Northeastern

Accepted! 2070 sats and 3.89 unweighted on 4.0 scale. 16K a year in deans scholarship! Congrats everyone!

ACCEPTED to CompSci
Male
International (Turkey)

Accepted to Music Industry!!
Gender: Female
Race: White
State: Arizona
School: Online charter
GPA UW: 3.7 (around there)
GPA W: 3.93 (they do their weighted GPAs the same way NEU recalculates them)
SAT: 2010 (superscore)
ECs: Pretty weak. I’ve played guitar for 6 years and drums for 4, I’m a Phi Theta Kappa member at my community college, I teach guitar and give ice skating lessons, and I’m an editor for the paper. I explained that I don’t have a lot because I do pretty much all the house and yard work for my family, though.

No merit scholarships and little financial aid, so it would be a pain to pay for. Amazingly, my dad seems fine with it. It’ll be down to NEU and NYU now (and trust me, I don’t expect much aid out of NYU lol) :)

@Shacoria No, I DID fill in the CSS (I’m pretty sure you have to), I just didn’t get it in by the Dec.1 EA deadline which would have allowed them to send my package with/around the same time as my admission decision. I sent it in about a week ago.
Northeastern’s email telling us that it was due Dec.1 came out Dec.2 so I couldn’t have made the deadline anyway. I’ve heard that sending it in after that deadline is okay, you’ll just get your financial aid package later. I’m just wondering how much later.

1950 SAT
29 ACT
3.65 GPA

So what was the actual line that said you got into the honors program?
I should’ve been able to make it with a 35 ACT / 92.4 GPA + top 10 US School, and my friends made it in with approx the same stats. I also got the Dean’s Scholarship, but I don’t see honors anywhere. :
Sorry if lack of modesty here, but I should be in the honors program…

People said it was written in the letter, somewhere along the lines of ‘congratulations for you acceptance we are happy to have you here and we invite you to be a part of the honors’

everlastingwish, my daughter didn’t get honors either and although her stats are lower than yours. they’re higher than some I have seen who have gotten honors as well as the higher scholarship (she got $16K dean’s scholarship)

At their honors presentation, they said that they take the top 15% and evaluate them for honors. So they might take someone with lower stats and not take someone with higher, if that’s the way they think it “fits.” I guess 1/3 of those evaluated don’t get offered a spot. But you can apply after your first semester if you want another chance.

Maybe it has to do with major (they said it doesn’t) or something else … I’m curious as well.

I know stats aren’t everything, but I don’t know if there’s anything in my application that’d be good enough for PharmD NEU & the 20k, but not for Honors. I might just send an e-mail and ask, but I’m not entirely sure if I’m going to NEU anyway. Might be too pushy.

honestly i have no idea how i got honors. 1380/1600, 2070/2400, 3.7 uw 4.4w
i think when they evaluate the top 15% for honors they look at your application all together and not just scores. i had a ton of ECs and leadership. i guess it was cause they thought i was well rounded
