Or, it just shows how much more Columbia likes psyching us D=

do u think that they should like give us indicators over a period of time- rather than instantly telling us that we fail? haha to reduce the overall stress?? … i donno how this can be done…

Right now I’m trying to convince myself that I’m sure enough already in the rejection pool.
So that I could get on with the freakin’ common app! But it’s proving hard to do at the moment:)

If I’m admitted ED I will go ballistic. But chances are that I won’t.
What a pointless and pathetic comment…

confidence people!!!

@Yesplease
Totally agree! Empire State of Mind FTW!
@Katy
I’m so doing the same! Gahh I’ve barely started my commonapp

so i was wondering if you guys have any idea about the chances of legacy v. not? because i was reading an article about harvard having a 9% acceptance, legacy’s chances go up to 40%. is the same true for columbia? i was just shocked at the statistics. thoughts?

wowow whered you get this info from?
i think on another thread i read that legacy at columbia is strictly defined as someone whose parent went to cc or seas…

i got a question guys… so like is it an advantage for an applicant, whose parents had not attended college?

I think the same way.

another question guys… u know how columbia wants all of each applicant’s sat marks? well…i got 2380 for sat subjects…BUT!!! i did do US history 1 year ago… without really studying for it… and got a 550…XD…this mark is submitted…but is not one of my volunteered marks (obviously =P) in the sections dedicated in the application…if you know what i mean.

How will this impact me? will admin officers go like…yea he’s good at those subjects…but *** is wrong with his US history? (btw im international)

Just curious, what are you guys planning to do right as you find out that you got in?
Of course other than screaming and jumping up and down :)

@yescolumbia
yeah my friend is kind of in the same predicament. She did stellar on the math and science subject tests, but when she took the english one, it was absolute failure. She was born in Bangledash and lived there until she turned 13. So, they might look at her crazy the same way they would look at you crazy

@cupcake
I’m gonna call everyone in my phonebook then post it on facebook =)

I’ll go berserk. And scream until I get phone calls from the neighbors complaining. And then text all my best friends and all the teachers that recommended me. And stay up all night thinking about what I’ll do on orientation. But that’s impossible. I should stop thinking about that. Huh.

I realized that it is very unlikely that I will be able to get much work done on my other applications, so I’m just going to wait until I hear from Columbia. I have so much homework that it seems almost silly to be working on other applications when a decision from Columbia is only a few days away! It’ll be a miracle if I get in, but I’m hopeful anyway.

if you guys have tracked the financial aid information–when you go under “documents” does it say that some items required for disbursement have not been received?

Yes because those documents aren’t needed until January

i know I was just excited with the word disbursement lol…since that implies…you knoww

I know.
But my CSS/PROFILE says not received too. So I’m still trying not to freak.

I started making a playlist that I’m going to blast with the windows down if I am accepted:

M79 and A-Punk - Vampire Weekend (they all went to Columbia, by the way!)
I Love NYC - Andrew W.K.
Eleanor, Put Your Boots on - Franz Ferdinand
Coney Island - Death Cab for Cutie
New York, New York - Ryan Adams

:)
