[] Essays: Optional was very good, the others just good.
[] Teacher Recs: Ridiculously good. Not even kidding.
[] Counselor Rec: I didn’t see it, so I don’t know. I know my counselor very well, though, and she seems really impressed by my personal qualities, whatever that means.
[] Hook (if any): Nobody knows where my school is, I’ve been receiving all A- to A+ grades in my IB classes for my junior and senior years (my GPA is lowered by my 9th and 10th grades, while the past two years I’ve been receiving 95-98% GPAs per quarter), I’m captain of mock trial, captain of indoor track, and my list of extracurriculars is incredibly extensive, covering all four of my years in high school. Also, I was a JHU CTY student, if that means anything, ultimately.
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: NY, USA
[] School Type: Public, rural area.
[] Ethnicity: White
[] Gender: Female
[] Major strength/weakness: Strengths, probably my recommendations, extracurriculars, optional essay, and the level of rigor of my diploma program. For weaknesses, see the next bullet.
[] Why you think you were accepted/rejected/deferred: My SAT Math and SAT II Spanish scores. Maybe my grades in 9th grade, which were rife with B grades. I honestly can’t imagine any other reasons beyond my being white, but that seems like a stretch. If there are any, please tell me, hahaha.

Congrats to everyone who did and to those deferred remember that Tufts is a rarity among colleges that accept a lot of people who have been deferred, ONE THIRD of the deferals are later accepted. That is A LOT.

I can’t wait to meet you all (especially you BrownorBust because I saw you here all along!).

I find it funny that my letter was exactly the same in Dec. =-)

Morgan, I’m sorry you didn’t get in, but life doesn’t stop here by any means! I’m sure you’ll end up at another fine school Good luck in your endeavors.

aw its ok morgan…ive been thinking about it myself and you have to realize that youre probably going to have a GREAT time no matter where you go. i know its hard to get over, but dont worry, the future is bright

They already put her on the waitlist despite the fact that RD decisions haven’t come out yet? Odd. Other deferees feel free to email me if you have any more questions as to what will happen next as two of you already have.

Hey! Thanks snuffles! Well i’m sending a letter and some other writings of mine to add to my application. Hopefully that will do it. Snuffles, do you go to Tufts? And I would like to know what will happen next. When do the adcomms start reviewing regular/early decision I deferral applications? Do they look at the ED I deferrals separately? I don’t know anything about college admissions…sighs

Do note that whatever you send to them (extra materials) that they’ll only have 5 minutes to look at them. Yes I do go to Tufts. If you’re going to send materials, I’d do it ASAP. I don’t think they look at the deferrals separately, but they definitely know upon secondary review that you had applied early.

Hey, I just registered yesterday, ironically. it seems pretty pointless now.
