Official ED Results Thread

“They told me that they didn’t defer. Is that new this year?”

frc01746,

I’m sorry about your deferral. Good luck on the RD round!
Who told you they didn’t defer, though? I don’t think any college doesn’t defer, because there are always going to be a greater number of talented students than there are spots available; they’d either have to defer or deny. In fact, most colleges choose to defer the majority of their ED applicants that they don’t accept, precisely because they are all more than qualified and justly deserve another opportunity to apply.

I wouldn’t worry too much frc01746, your stats look really good and you should have a good chance in regular decision!

Thank you ashowen1701! Oh and there is a facebook page!? Is it only for ED applicants or is there a way I can sneak in? ;)

Fluffykino, it seems to be for accepted students only, unfortunately. With any luck, you’ll be able to join in a few months. The group is called “Carleton College Class of 2016 (Official),” for accepted students who didn’t know it existed.

frc01746, like the others said, you probably don’t need to worry too much. With higher quality and quantity of ED applicants than before, I’m sure there were a pretty high number of deferrals. Your stats definitely seem strong enough for you to stand a pretty good chance in RD.
