Considering I just received my blue folder containing my acceptance letter, I felt it necessary to open a thread for everyone to express their joy/depression. Include your result and a little bit about yourself, if you’d like to do so.

I’m Jack, from Green Bay. I’ll be playing baseball while I’m at Carleton and my major is up in the air at this point, but I’m strongly considering a physical science.

Hello! I’m Austin, from a little city (even smaller than Northfield) just west of Kansas City. I received my acceptance letter this morning, and I can’t begin to describe how much of a relief that was. Although I don’t have any idea what I’ll major in, I’m incredibly excited to begin my life at Carleton.

Congratulations to you, Jack, and good luck to everyone who is still waiting.

I’m rather embarrassed to attach my real identity with my username, but oh well. My name’s Kristen, and I’m from Iowa. I was so worried about getting accepted I bet my friend ten bucks I wouldn’t; I’ve never been so happy to owe money before. I’m also completely clueless when it comes to majors, but I think I’d love studying linguistics. :)

Congrats to you both! I hope the rest of CC has equally good luck. :)

I just received my acceptance a few days ago. I live in a small town 3 hours north of North Field. The plan as of now is Poly-Sci, but plans can change.
Sadly, Carleton said they did not receive my financial info, so I still have to work that out. Did anyone else run into that problem?

I’m so glad that I can now officially join this thread :)

Hi! My name is Claire and I am from Taiwan. I was an exchange student in Minnesota my sophomore year and I can’t wait to go back to the beautiful state! I was ecstatic to receive my Fedex decision! Right now, I am thinking of maybe psychology or environmental studies, but I am pretty much open to anything at this point. So excited to meet you all next year!

ps. Is there also going to be a stats page since I found it pretty useful when I was considering colleges…

I just got accepted today- I live in Maryland. Schoolwise I like psychology and English. I’m mainly a swimmer but I dabble in a few other sports. Really excited to meet you all next year.

I just received my letter of acceptance!! I’ve never been happier to see snail mail delivered in my life. I’m from California, by the way. My envelope was a little soggy from the rain but that’s okay. :D

[ *]Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging?: I was just myself in all written materials and think that colleges, particularly one like Carleton, love genuine people. If anyone would like to get in touch with me any time before the next school year, they can message me for my identity and a facebook friendship could certainly follow

My stats aren’t that impressive, but if they’re able to help anyone out, here they are:

Hello all! I am just a regular decision applicant (The idea of locking in through ED is unattractive to me) but I thought I could chime in. I was nervous when I first saw this thread because Carleton is my first choice but a day doesn’t pass that I get the haunting thought that I may not be accepted. Needless to say when you all started talking about your blue envelopes, I began to feel a little glum and worried.

However, I really want to thank you all for posting your stats as it really allows me (and others) to take a look at were we stand. I am happy to see that my stats are strikingly similar to all of yours which hopefully means that if you were all accepted (granted through ED) I stand a better chance than I thought! Thank you all so much! I hope you all are my future classmates!
