Official FALL 2012 Cornell Transfers

@box90210, which part r u in cali?

Hi, I am new here, what is you guys meaning of “Housing”? The account?

SoCal! you 19910217?

More waiting for me too @box! I’m in San Diego. At this point I’ve actually been admitted to all the UC’s except Cal (didn’t apply) but I’m really leaning toward UCSB Economics.

@box and ILR, SAME HERE~SM

@box, what is your second choice?

@Chris1992 Sounds like good news to me! They are taking their time on you, which probably means that they are pretty interested, as opposed to giving you a flat out rejection.

hey! i live in cali too… what does deny letter look like? is it thin? just a rejection letter inside?! i guess i will get mine too!!..>_<

are you a transfer right/!! I live in san diego too!

yay for SoCal :]
i was super focussed on cornell for a long time until like a week ago when i found out that last year for the entering fall transfer class only 8 ppl total for ILR were out of state (meaning everyone else was NY or international).

i just got a spring grade request for USC, meaning i have a chance of getting in after they see my final spring grades (its for people really being considered, not for ppl with bad grades). i applied to a handful of other private schools too but won’t be hearing back for a while it seems like.

what about you other ILR and SoCal ppl? what other options are you thinking about?

@box, seriously!? No wonder we Cali people haven’t heard back. I can’t believe only 8 people… A guy I went to high school with in SD went to a private college after graduating and was one of those 8 to transfer to ILR last year. He said he would review my essays but I never sent them to him.

i believe its 8. did you get info in the mail from cornell right after submitting your app? i did and it had the fall ILR class admit breakdown with the #'s and everything.
did anything else get it?

@box90210 Based on your zipcode I assume we are neighbors! I still haven’t heard anything either. Where are you applying from?

@ilrgirl us cali peeps need to stay together!

@box, I didn’t receive that one.

@smcscholar, well, the weather here is gorgeous!

I’m seriously considering applying to ILR again for grad school.

@ILR girl, was there anything that really made him stand out as an applicant?? im just curious if there was any particular the admissions ppl were attracted to.

@smcscholar ill say my school name after i get my decision in case admissions ppl are reading this (since i might be the only one from my small private school applying to ILR) :)

@ilrgirl, dont give up yet, good news is coming to all of us, go calis~

@gguuyy

Wow, that’s great! I love the people at Case, the friends I’ve made, the professors I’ve talked to, and just the whole supportive environment here on campus. But, rather than just moving up, I didn’t feel an academic challenge, something I felt back at high school and I want to be in a place where I feel that I’m getting the most of my academic experience.

Plus, coming from a major city in the East Coast (NY), I really miss the people and the whole large urban environment.

gguuyy, Case is def. a great place to be, you’ll make so many lifelong friends.

@whatninjaman

yeah my friend goes there now and he loves it. he’s on the baseball team but he said there are a lot of good people there and it’s a great school. I go to the university of Akron right now and I hate it. I honestly feel like I’m with a bunch of idiots all the time lol. I’m trying to go aaaanywhere with intelligent people and I heard Case is really a great school!

and thanks for the input! it makes me feel better about seriously considering going there!
and good luck to you!

could anyone log into dining?

@box I’d hope that the admissions people at an institution as prestigious as Cornell would have better things to do with their time than watching potential students freak themselves out with nerves over getting in…
