To everyone who is applying to CAS: I just spoke to an admissions representative at Cornell, and she informed me that all decisions are being mailed out today. I am happy because this means I will know soon whether or not I was accepted (and I am sure many others feel the same way). However, I have tried logging into housing with no luck, which is really frightening. Has anyone just recently - over the weekend or today - been able to log into housing?!
I wish the best of luck to everyone who is applying to transfer to Cornell…this process is beyond stressful and terrifying!

@love4ever, oh~that’s nice! i am assuming that CHE is also sending out their decisions today?

I’m not sure if CHE is also sending out their decisions today. Call 607.255.5241 and they will transfer you over to the CHE department. Just call in quickly because I know they are only open until 4:30 EST (which is 15 minutes from now)! This way you’ll know for sure when your decisions are being sent out!

@Everyon…holy ****, all CAS are getting sent out today??? thats scary. up to this point i could deny my feelings of maybe getting rejected but since they’re all getting sent out today i can’t anymore…

@alyssa, no i haven’t heard anyone! and i don’t know anyone that’s applying, this thread is way more helpful

@love4ever, oh yeah~ thank u !!! i will definitely do that tomorrow~

They are sending decisions via mail only? What is it with so many schools not posting decisions online?

@kvasek, mostly till now, but I know that some schools do emial and phone calls as well, but not that much!~

Has anyone heard back from the hotel school?
When will they release notifications…

Anyone know when CALS is supposed to release decisions?

I’ll call tomorrow, but if anyone’s heard recently I’d love to know!

@love4ever I still cannot log onto housing, perhaps all decisions are being sent out and those who are accepted will be able to log on afterwards. To be completely honest I am surprised Cornell’s AdCom hasn’t stopped the housing portal issue altogether- it only gives people an added layer of nerves in this whole process and I’m sure it’s annoying for them to get questions about the whole thing nonstop.

@Chris I agree, this thread is way more helpful. I stalked last year’s Penn thread because it had so many insightful posts on the timing of decisions and everything, but I sort of wish there was one for 2012 transfers. Maybe less people are applying to transfer! Lol… wishful thinking.

And… holy ****. I live in CT so the CAS letter will probably come before Thursday at least. Seriously mixed emotions on this one.

I’m in Boston, but I only recently changed my address online, so it still may get sent home. Oh I sure hope my parents don’t have to give me the news. For their sake and mine. I’m super nervous, but I guess I just want it all to be over.

@alyssa I completely agree with the whole housing debacle, while it’s kind of cool to see the level of prediction it provides, it’s definitely an added stressor :/

Good luck to everyone!

if they’re getting sent out today, how long does mail take to travel? i live in florida.

Shouldn’t be too long. Usually around 2-5 business days. I’d bet you’d get it by Friday, at least.

It took my FA papers 2 days to get from CT to Ithaca so I’m guessing even if you live in FL you’ll have it by Thurs or Fri. I’m going to cry when I get the letter lol- whether it’s from crazy excitement or rejection. Can’t stand the wait any more!

I’m from the southwest (completely opposite end of the country) and my decision letter was dated the 10th and I got it on the 12th (in the morning). I’m pretty sure the way they send it is 2-3 business days like priority mail.

hi, anyone heared back from CALS, i applied CALS but havet got any thing up to now. No email. no letter. Iv called CALS yesterday and they told me there would be an email before the letter comes out(she said “most likely”), and i havet got the email. By the way, how to log in to that housing? which portal should i try?" undergraduate student without-NetID"??

Thanks

@billsiki cool!! are you in the State now? I have known many people applied for AAP this year. don’t know what the number is like compared to last year but definitely large enough. SO NERVOUS!!!

Just curious: do they work on the admission first and then go over the FA materials, or do they deal with them at the same time? anyone has an idea?

@ AdaKing

Admission first, then FA. Trust me, because I’ve been obsessively calling the FA office for two weeks now. Lol.

Damn this anticipation is killing me but thank god my safety accepted me, if I get rejected I can still get a phenomenal education at the wonderful UT Austin. Cheers and good luck to all. Remember if you get rejected, don’t let it bring you down. Kick ass wherever you decide to go and make the most out of your college education, and remember theres always grad school. :)
