Official FALL 2012 Cornell Transfers

I am also applying for the Nutritional Sciences major! sooo anxious. Did they tell you around when you’re supposed to hear back?

@ilovechemistry6 : oh my~ nice!!! :-))))))))
oh no~ i tried to email them before but got no response. i think I should call them ~

Yes don’t email, call! I never got responses to my e-mails, probably because they are swamped. That kinda sucks for me though, because it is much easier for me to convey myself through e-mail than over the phone. So human development applicants, what do you love most about human development? I applied because I work with inner city children and I’d like to be some type of social/case worker and possibly get into research :)

If you’ve applied to CAS and are still waiting on your decision, just call the admissions office.
I phoned in today, and then they told me my “application was denied.” It was appropriately awkward.

Are you serious… that is really awkward. Sorry to hear that.

Wow that’s scary! I’m sorry to hear that. I’d rather wait to open the letter than have them tell me over the phone D:

@justina11 Sorry to hear that…

Yeah I do not have the guts to call, even if I am fully prepared for rejection.

Agreed. @Justina, i admire your courage for calling…no way in hell i have the guts to do it though. Im gonna sit here in anxiety and wait for that call from my mommy with the good/bad news.

Regardless, good luck with whatever you end up doing, I’m sure you’ll do great!

Thanks, you too.

I sort of convinced myself not to care. I didn’t have terribly good odds, so I lowered my expectations in kind.
I can totally see why you guys would prefer to receive your decision in letter form. The woman I spoke to sounded like a machine.

@Chris I am waiting for the parental call…or lack thereof too. My dad told me that there was no way in hell he would call if I get rejected…so I guess if I’m taking finals and still haven’t heard then it’s safe to assume I didn’t get in haha!

I called yesterday and was just told that letters would be received by the end of this week D:

@Justina I am really sorry that you had to hear your decision over the phone in a unapologetic manner.

I guess I should be able to accept defeat by now (especially after being rejected at 10 schools and waitlisted at 1). Do you guys know if my high school years still matter as much? (I ask because I have only had one full semester of college [two counting this one], and well I have not been able to accomplish as much as I did in H.S; it’s just taking me longer to achieve something :confused: ) Anyway, good luck guys and let’s hope for the best (especially my fellow international and College of Science Applicants) :D

@aspx32,

sighh. this is not okay :frowning: my current institution pays for at least half of my costs soooo FA would definitely affect my decision to attend cornell.

did they give you another date?
the woman whom i spoke to sounded a little clueless…and she seemed like this wasn’t a big deal. lol
let me know!

@grinver since you are a sophomore transfer applicant, they should pay substantial attention to your high school record, as opposed to us junior transfers :)

For anyone waiting for financial aid, Cornell’s financial aid site says that fall transfers will get their aid notifications sent by June 15. So, some of you might be waiting awhile. :confused: But then again, it says BY June 15th, not on.

I hope mine gets here by May 11th, because that’s when my deposit is due. I’m going to call today, again. lol I’m so glad I’m not the only one who is going through all of this.

I just called, and they said they still haven’t made a decision on my app. The lady told me to call back on Friday and she could definitely give me an answer. Does this mean I’m on the brink?

@transfernow are you a CAS applicant? If the information is correct, I would assume they are still finishing up reviewing applications. I am gonna call them in a little see what they say.

Btw, what’s the number to call?

Applied to CALS for biological sciences. Up until today I couldn’t login to housing, but now I can and I submitted an app for housing. Is this good news?

using your applicantID? or net ID?
