Official fall 2014 transfer thread

Thanks everyone, if you haven’t already, give them a call. They might have your decision without having released it yet

Has anyone from CALS not received your decision yet?

@NN40801 Me. I applied for Development Sociology. I got the missing financial aid email, but nothing on my transeval and no PIN number to be found. Not sure what’s taking so long.

@NN40801‌ @cali2387‌ I also haven’t received my decision from CALS. Just wondering, did you guys happen to send your mid term report after the March 1st deadline?

I did. I sent mine ~3/12. that’s when my first round of midterms were over.

@cali2387‌ From what I’ve seen so far, it appears that the people who haven’t received a decision yet so far in CALS turned in their mid term report after the deadline

I havent gone back to review but if memory serves, it seems tha ILR accepts got a phone call before an email and the others simply got an email. I could be wrong. No time to review with finals and all…

Hey guys, I was just recognized as the “Outstanding Sophomore” for the 2013-2014 academic year for the department of chemistry and biochemistry at my current school. Do you think it is too late to contact CALS to have them add it to my application?

@andypopins Someone asked a similar question on the Cornell Undergraduate Application blog a couple years ago and the Cornell representative said to email updates to admissions@cornell.edu …not sure if it’s too late, though! (link for blog: http://blogs.cornell.edu/admissions/2011/10/31/application-questions-and-answers/</a> “kyle” asked it in the comments section)

@andypopins‌ it cant hurt. Do it! Thats a great addition.

I talked to Ian from ILR earlier this evening. Asked me about why I decided to go to a community college after high school, what my favorite course was, what my career goals were, etc. He said that they were finalizing decisions and should have them all out within a few days, and that it is taking so long because of an issue with the commonapp.

I got an email yesterday asking for course descriptions of my literature classes taken thus far (I applied as an English major), though I still have yet to hear about an official decision. Do you all think this is a good sign? I’m not sure what to make of it.

@scottjb621‌ its probably a good sign. they probably want to see if you have fulfilled all of the requirements. think of it like this, if they were going to deny you, you probably would not be asked for your literature classes

My transeval has my name!! and my major now. This usually happens before acceptances right? or does it happen before rejections as well?

@cali2387 OH MY GOSH! Mine too!!! I think it’s a good sign

Lmao my transeval is still blank. As big of an accomplishment it would be to be accepted, I’d hate to have to turn it down. I’d almost be relieved if I got rejected, because I’m already set on going to UOklahoma. It’s cheaper and the best for my field (meteorology).

@Naylien I’m almost at that point…after dropping $400 on a non-refundable deposit to my second choice yesterday, I’m feeling like at least being rejected by Cornell would mean I’m only out $400 instead of $800 >.> lol (Though, after we’ve spent 4+ years in college, being worried about a $400 debt will be laughable :p)

@Naylien‌ Congratulations on your acceptance to UOklahoma. We wish you the best!

@cali2387 @andypopins congrats guys! Can you guys retrieve a pin yet?

@andypopins‌ @cali2387 My transeval page changed too!! I think this is a good sign!!!
