Official fall 2014 transfer thread

where did you guys find transeval? I applied to SHA but was unable to find the transeval on my application…

@hwu887788‌ https://transeval.cals.cornell.edu

@chemistryking‌ No i’m still not able to retrieve my pin

I just called in ILR. They told me they are still reviewing my application. Doesn’t really seem like a good sign.

I just got accepted just now to ILR over the phone Ian called me

@Desiderata1‌ who is Ian? And do they usually call for ILR?

@happyfeet123‌ Ian is there assistant transfer director. From what I have gathered it seems like acceptance phone calls are pretty regular

actually I think he is the assistant admissions director

@Desiderata1‌ Thanks that is good to know! Now not only will I be refreshing my email every 10seconds, but I will be waiting for a phone call as well haha. Congrats!

Hey everyone I just got a call from Ian (Associate director of ILR) about my acceptance 30 minutes ago. He did say the reason they took so long in the application process this year was because of a common app error issue. I also asked him when other s people’s decisions should be out since I have a friend applying and he said hopefully within the next few days or within the week. Best of luck to everyone. Also I from a California CC :)

@hwu887788‌ did u maybe try to call them?

because I also think that we don’t have this kind of transeval page for SHA

Good luck everyone else! Just so you know for ILR my stats were not very competitive I think the only reason I got in was because my phone interview went extremely well.

Just called them, they told me that decisions for CAS will be sent out soon, and some are being changed as we speak. Not sure what she meant by changed :frowning: I told her I have to give my deposit for another school and I’m waiting on my decision from cornell, she said “just keep on the lookout for an email from us soon”.

@Nirina, yea, I dont think SHA applicant has the same transfer evaluation page like others

Hey all! Electrical Engineering applicant here. So last night, I received an email from the collegeboard requesting me to fill out the IDOC. At first I was a little confused because I’ve literally done nothing on the collegeboard site this application cycle so I was a little unsure as to why I got it but with a little bit of digging today, I found out that the reason I got it was because Cornell had requested it. After looking back in the thread, it seems like a couple people might have received a similar email? @NH40801 @beaccepted2014‌ @chemistryking @PaintTheSilence‌

Now I don’t want to get my hopes up too quickly but I can only see this as a good thing. It seems like yesterday was a heavy day for rejecting engineering applicants and I didn’t get a decision. Any thoughts?

The thing is, I really don’t want to fill out financial aid stuff until I know I’ve been accepted into a college. I went through the process last year when I was first applying as a transfer and after getting rejected at many of these places, I vowed that I wouldn’t complete a financial aid application again until I had actually been admitted. Furthermore, my parents are kinda against my whole transfer thing so they really don’t want to fill out the info unless they know I’ve been accepted.

@Chelseanderby‌

I’m also an Electrical Engineering applicant. I would seriously recommend filling out the financial aid stuff. Sure, you lose maybe $20 and some time if you don’t get accepted but that’s way better than getting accepted and not being able to afford it due to no financial aid.

I also emailed the admissions office recently and they told me that my application was currently being reviewed by faculty. In the past years I noticed a trend for engineering applicants. There would be an early flood of rejections in late april followed by very few acceptances in early may followed by some mixed decisions in late may and a flood of acceptances in early June.

Did any CALS applicants not receive any change on their transeval change yet?

@NN40801‌ Evidently Naylien hasn’t received a change yet.

@chelseanderby Yeah, i’m in your situation. I tried calling them today to see what they had to say about it and they’re like definitely send in the IDOC ASAP. They said the email don’t say anything about whether I’ll be admitted or not.

@NN40801 No change for me :(
