i havent heard back yet… does this mean I am rejected? most of the engineering applicants that heard back were accepted…

@genheals2 thank you for your advice! And good luck with your app to SHA!

@lifedeath1 they said they made their final decisions for bio engineering yesterday. Check you email inbox. It’s probably there.

@najiro I think different departments make their decisions independently. Some might take longer. For biological and environmental engineering, decisions should be out by now.

@stephenfuuu nopes nothing yet. I should probably call them tomorrow ?

@stephenfuuuuu That definitely is weird, but I’d take it as a good sign. Obviously your grades, ECs, etc. are on par with others who got in, and hopefully your explanation will help sway their opinion on you not being a “fit.” A lot of people deny admission so I would tend to think that you’re in good shape possibly. Definitely follow up if you don’t hear back from them soon.

@lifedeath1 yeah i think you should make a call.

@shockastrika83 The person from Admissions told me that they accepted 2 students and wait listed 4 for bio engineering this year (And one accepted student will most likely not matriculate according to a previous post on this thread). According to the admission officer who contacted me, my explanation was “eloquent” and “heartfelt,” but I’d think that’s probably just a comment out of courtesy. Should I send them some additional information other than the explanation which I already did?

@shockastrika83 oh and in the message i sent them i did mention that i will ABSOLUTELY enroll if i am offered admission. Don’t know if that helps though.

Just got in!

Applying: Computer and Electrical Engineering
Current School: Drake University
Current GPA: 4.0
Credits: 134
High School GPA: 3.8 (unweighted)
SAT score: 2050
EC: Research with faculty, resident assistant, and president of math club and society of physics students.

Comments: I’m a junior majoring in computer science, mathematics, and physics at Drake University. I decided last year I wanted to study something with more real-world applications. I applied to 3-2 programs (like the one at Wash U), but I also applied as a regular transfer student to cornell and other top schools.

If I go to cornell I should be able to graduate in two years. Furthermore, I have an agreement in writing from the dean of my current institution saying when I’m ready to graduate from my engineering school, I can transfer classes back to finish my comp sci, math, and physics majors and graduate from Drake with a second B.S…

tl;dr I have an agreement that makes transferring to cornell tantamount to a 3-2 engineering program

Got accepted today in for Electrical Engineering!!! Very relieved, admissions haven’t been going the best so far and this is fantastic news!

I had emailed the engineering committee a couple of days back and they had told me that ECE decisions would probably be completed by today so I think they’re done for ECE now. But what I gathered from that email is that they do an initial review for all engineering applicants, weed out some people, and then send a few people to the department faculty review and then they select who gets in. This would make sense given the initial rejections and now the staggered results by major. So I guess if you haven’t heard back at this point, you probably at least made it past the first checkpoint.

@jremmons Maybe I’ll see you there next year!

@jremmons @Chelseanderby Congrats to both of you! That’s incredible! Chelseanderby, that’s what I heard from admissions too! Where did you apply from?

has anyone else still not heard back from sha?

No word yet on my transfer application to the Human Ecology school. Is this bad or good? It seems really late…heard from everyone else two weeks ago. Is anyone else still waiting on an answer from the HE school?

@transfergirl818 haven’t heard anything over here. Probably won’t be until Tuesday because of the holiday.

Hello everybody! Today I got accepted as a mechanical engineering major and cornell will be my choice if I get rejected (and most likely I will) from cooper union.

Sorry for not socialiing so far but I really did not expect admission especially after I got rejected from nyu poly. Do we have any facebook group?

Just got a letter in the mail. I was rejected from SHA

Rejected. Oh well. Guess it’s another year for me.
But congrats to everyone that got accepted!

waitlisted by College of Engineering. I guess that’s weird…
