Official FLVS AP Thread

No problem. And the tests are pretty easy some are based on facts given in the lessons like definitions, factors of a market and things like that. Others have graphs. And some have written responses. But they’re easy as well. You can reset all exams in one module up to 3 or 4 times but you can’t reset the LAST exam for a module, which are called “module exam”. If you don’t like your score, you have to tell you teacher and she’ll reset it for you when you take more notes.

Yes, definitely. You can call or text your teacher and he/she will help you. And the videos are helpful as well. There are a lot of resources to help you with the lesson or assignment.

I don’t know about requesting extra problems because I’ve never tried it. But when you take on of the quizzes and you don’t like your score, you can go back study more and retake the quiz and see how you did. Every time you reset a quiz you get different questions so that should help. (:

Has anyone taken APUSH with FLVS? What did they think?

Has anyone taken AP Spanish through FLVS? How difficult is the content? At my school, the course is very difficult and I was wondering if FLVS would be a better alternative for me. What is the time requirement?

Austie i’ve been waiting for that too i want to take it bad but its too native speaker oriented at my school

@weeknd yeah at my school ONLY native speakers take the course. You have to be invited to take it and I was asked to, but the class is the most intensive course on campus. The teacher is really good at preparing students for the exam (100% 5 rate for 4 years in a row) but I’m just afraid it’ll be too much and it will bring down my GPA on my primary transcript.

Anyone know what AP Spanish on FLVS is like?

I just wanted to put my feedback on this thread since this is where I went when deciding which AP class to take over the summer.
I recently just finished up AP Microeconomics (I took the final today so I’m not sure about my overall grade, but I’m pretty sure it’s an A) I would HIGHLY recommend taking this class if you’ve never taken an AP course online before. The lessons are relatively easy, and even if something is confusing you can always contact your teacher!
I did the accelerated pace and finished the course in 7 weeks. If you aren’t a note taker this class could be a breeze, but for me I like to write notes so I can use them on tests. It would take me an hour to write notes for one lesson (I’m terrible with doing summaries). Although it took time to write notes and do assignments, my teacher was very attentive and had helpful hints for every lesson I was stuck on. It really helped me understand it better and get a good grade. My teacher, Mrs. Hill by the way is a spectacular teacher, would even let you reset a module exam if you really wanted to and she would tutor you on the questions you got wrong! The lowest grade I got on a module exam was a 60 and after she tutored me I got a 90! Not all of the questions are the same but the tutoring helps you get a better understanding.
She was also very available, and was even able to do DBAs and such over weekends. Texting was always available too, which helped me when I was in the middle of an assignment and had a quick question.
Overall the class took some time out of my day (I’m just about to be a sophomore so not as much knowledge or experience with AP as I’ve only taken human geo in school), but it was easy to learn and a great experience. The lessons keep you interested and most of the questions on the exams were indeed in the lesson.
I’ve already signed up for AP Macro and I’m slightly disappointed Mrs. Hill isn’t teaching it, but I’ll be working at a slower pace to correspond with my school work and I hope to get 5’s on both my AP exams in the spring :)

How is AP Human Geography on flvs? Additionally for a 9th grader, how hard it will be to do AP Stats? I have already done Algebra2 and I like Math and I am somewhat good at it. In school I will be taking PreCalc and I do not have room to take any AP classes. I have to take AP class on flvs so I am thinking AP Human Geography, AP Stats or AP Computer Science (I do not have much programming experience, but I like computer science and I love robotics and so know a little about programming and stuff).

Does anyone know which is easier/has fewer assignments: FLVS AP Language or FLVS AP Literature?
Right now I just signed up for AP Lit, and it looks like it is difficult to navigate and has lots of assignments. I can still drop it, but if I do, I would take AP Language. Any advice?

I have scrolled through this entire thread and there is not a great deal of info on APHG. Does anybody have any opinions on APHG?

Still looking for an AP Psych review. Hasn’t anyone taken it?

I took AP Pysch, and it was EASY. That is mainly because of the teacher I had. During a DBA, you could give her an answer that was completely wrong and she would say"Absolutely!". She also gave me and two other students at my school who took it 100s on everything, even when one of the students purposely wrote a really messed up assignment to see if she would dock points. Now of course, that was just my teacher and I am sure most aren’t like that. Anyways, in general, it was an easy class because there was not any math or difficult concepts or anything like that. It was pretty much memorization and it was honestly quite interesting. Also, you have a lot more freedom with online classes.

@DanceOrDie I really want to take AP Psych. I already took Psychology 1 on FLVS and i learned a bit but I mostly just flew through the entire course to finish it before summer ended. Does AP Psych provide you with enough information and knowledge for the AP exam?

Well, I’m almost concerned now. I’m homeschooled, and I’m finishing three classes. (English II, Geometry, World History) and I signed up for three AP courses (Psychology, Environmental Science, and MicroEconomics). I wasn’t all that concerned, but I knew it was going to be more work, but is the Environmental Science really bad? I haven’t been placed in a classroom yet, and I really don’t want to drop it, but I’m not exactly the most motivated person. Will completing an assignment a day in all six classrooms take a much longer amount of time than I already take with my previous six classes? (~6-8 hours)

@spectralMagician I haven’t taken Environmental Science but I did take 4 online classes this summer. It took me 6-8 hours a day to finish 3 classes before school started in August and thats because I’d turn in 3 or more assignments a day for each class. I’m almost done with my fourth class that I started a month ago and it’s Algebra 2. I think that you can turn in 1 assignment a day and still have time for yourself, something that I didn’t have this summer. But if you want to take Environmental Science, do it. To be honest AP classes online are not hard at all. The only difference is that you actually need to pay attention, try, and learn so that you can do good on the AP exam. If you like the subject or think that you’ll like it, then don’t let these comments stop you. At the end of the day they’re just opinions. Hope this helps (:

AP Bio and AP Lit on FLVS curriculum ftw… But at Connections Academy. Other Connections Academy AP curricula comes from Aventa and other publishers.

Has anyone taken English 3 Honors over the summer? My daughter needs to take a course over the summer to lighten her load in her junior year as she will be taking 3 AP’s. I really would like her to take an easy class, as the rigor is too much for her. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi guys, I am currently two assignments away from finishing my AP gov course on FLVS. Those two assignments however are the final exam/FRQ. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how to prepare for them? I have a 97 in the course right now, also I bought an AP princeton review book. Thanks!

Hey guys, as you can see from my last post, it’s been almost a month since I signed up for these classes and I haven’t been accepted yet. Does it always take this long to get into AP classes or is something up?

Hi Swagmasterk, Sorry I cannot answer to your post, but my daughter is considering taking AP Gov thru FLVS. Can you offer insite about the course? Lesson structure, quizzes, tests? She has taken several FLVS courses, but no AP’s at FLVS. Several AP’s at her HS. Most importantly, how many hours in a day to get through the course in 10 to 12 weeks? Is this dooable? Do you think the course offered value other than just the credit and grade? Thank you!

Does anyone have experience with taking Spanish 3 honors on FLVS my Spanish 2 teacher this year is horrible and I don’t know if I will take next year as one my classes in school. Is it difficult online?
