Thought this thread should get bumped, it is pretty useful.
I took ap micro this spring and it was literally so easy to get an A in. Some of the material in microeconomics is a little difficult, and there are parts of the class where FLVS does a bad job of explaining the concepts, but all in all the class was basically a joke. I started the class in the middle of February and finished April 30th. I maybe worked on the class 6 or 7 times and devoted about 2 hours per time in the class. I swear it was that easy

In addition, would anyone mind going in depth on ap english literature. I feel like I didn’t really get any info about the class from any of the posts.

I actually requested ap micro for the summer can you go into more dept into how the class is?

Super easy I swear. There are about 49 assignments (the last 2 are just blank and don’t matter). The final is just repeated questions from all of the other tests so make sure you save all of them for the final. The assignments are easy, and if you don’t get them correct the first time, the teachers basically give you the answers in their responses. All of the graphs in microeconomics are basic, and I would just watch youtube videos on how to draw them and it will make your time in the class much easier. if you devote time to it, you can definitely finish in 2 to 3 weeks I swear.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GO IN DEPTH ON AP ENGLISH LIT and BC CALC.

I took AP Microeconomics with FLVS. I got a borderline A, but I feel like I wouldn’t take a class like that again. As a whole the class is simple and straightforward. Getting an A is not too hard. I ended with such a borderline grade because I failed (30something percent) one of the tests (I didn’t even read through the lessons and just took it). However, don’t expect to pass the AP exam based solely on the FLVS class. I suggest watching YouTube videos on microeconomics to learn the graphs better. Overall, the setup of the class is just a pain in the @ss. The homework assignments and tests feel like busywork and i did not enjoy the class. The final exam is mostly questions from old tests. Overall, the class is easy to cheat on if you just want to pass for the AP Class Credit.

Bump
Can someone go over ap art history and ap psychology? Btw I just took ap human geography, overall it’s easy except some of the urban and industrial stuff was tricky. The multiple choice part of exams were very difficult. I’m currently in ap environmental science. Material wise it’s easy but some of the assignments are annoying.

I signed up for APES for this summer. Grace period ends this monday. I’m halfway through the first module and it seems like the information is basic (so far) but the assignments are RIDICULOUS. The first lab took forever, and my teacher actually grades everything so she made me redo it:/ Overall though the lessons seem easy (although long). I know APES was already talked about on this thread and most people don’t recommend it, but I want some other POVs as well. Is APES worth it? I’m thinking about dropping it (I have one day haha) but if I do, my counselor may take FOREVER to approve another course, so idk.

Also, what are recommendations for EASY but HELPFUL APs to take on FLVS? I want it to be easy, but be decently prepared for the exam. Thanks!

AP Statistics on FLVS is definitely a VERY easy course! I highly recommend it. I just recently finished segment 1 and it truly was an easy A. Get through chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4 quickly because they are the easiest out of the entire AP Statistics course! Nothing is too hard. AP Stats teachers are generally nice I’ve heard. Mine especially was. Super helpful and accommodating. I feel confident going into the AP Stats exam in May.

Also, would anyone please reply to the questions I have below?

I have absolutely no experience with Computer programming but I really need to take AP Comp sci for a gpa boost. Would anyone recommend this class? Is it really time consuming? I was able to finish segment 1 of ap stats in 3 weeks so i guess that alone can show im a fast, hard, and devoted worker. I need to finish the class soon but i feel like because i know nothing about the subject perhaps i wont be able to finish in time. also, how is AP US History? I’m thinking about taking AP Comp Sci and APUSH on flvs. please let me know what you think of these courses!!

@DoctaDoolittle, are you talking about AP Microeconomics being super easy? Also, are you allowed to retake exams/quizzes/hwk on it? I was thinking about taking it but there are so many mixed reviews. Some people say its extremely hard and time consuming while others say its super easy so I’m just really confused on whether or not I should take it :(

Anyone taking AP Human Geography, unlike AP Stats, there is a lot of reading involved in each lesson. Do you recommend taking notes or just reading through it?

I’m currently taking AP Macroeconomics. It can be somewhat confusing sometimes but the tests are really easy. If you don’t get the desired score the first time you can retake it up to 3 times. Take notes! For every module exam you’ll need them.You have to draw the graphs by hand and then send a picture to your teacher. There are more quizzes than assignments and the assignments are mostly calculating. Overall, it’s an okay class. I’m planning on taking AP Government and Politics, then I want to do AP Microeconomics. Has anyone taken AP Gov?

How’s AP Statistics??? I want to take it but I’m scared that it’ll be too hard to understand.

Hi guys! could someone tell me about the workload of ap macro on flvs? how many hours per week? is it self-paced, or closely monitored? is it easy, hard? are there many errors? thanks!

@fairytingaling
I’m taking AP Macro right now and it’s not that bad. There are 45 assignments and seven modules. Modules 1-6 are actually lessons but module 7 is just reviews and 2 exams which are the finals. One final exam is free response and the other one is multiple choice. I don’t think the class is hard. Sometimes it can get a bit confusing but you can either call or text your teacher and he/she will help you. There are more exams than assignments. And the exams aren’t so long, 35 questions max. Most of them are like 15 questions. You can finish a module a day if you want to. It all depends on how much you put into it. It is not my favorite class but it was okay and I want to take AP Micro. I suggest you take a lot of notes! It helps for the AP exam, which I haven’t taken. The notes help you remember the material easier. For most of the assignments you have to hand draw graphs and their really easy. For others you have to calculate with the formulas that they give you which is cake! About the pace you can choose two different types of paces, accelerated or traditional. But you can finish whenever you want. I was an entire week behind this week but it didn’t affect me I just turned in more assignments and I’m back on pace. It’s a pretty easy class but I can’t compare it cause this is my first AP class. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions (:

Does the FLVS AP courses require a textbook? What resources are required for a class such as…AP Micro/AP Macro? How easy were them?

@Issac6108
AP Macro isn’t hard most of the time. I think it’s quite easy.No they don’t require a text book. All the lessons are in the modules. What do you mean by resources?

@Kassypx3 just stuff like books, additional reading etc. They don’t require textbooks at all? That sounds amazing. How about for classes like AP Lang/Lit? What text is used for those classes? How does FLVS teach them?

@Isaac6108
Nope. All you have to do is read the lessons, take notes, and do the assignments and exams. It doesn’t feel like an AP class except that you can’t cheat your way through the course if you actually want to pass the AP exam. I don’t know about AP Lang or Lit. I’m doing AP Lit this upcoming year in my actual school and for summer reading I had to read two novels. I’m not sure if they’ll make you read passages and stories or actual books. And for AP Macro it doesn’t require much teaching as in an actual teacher in person. If you don’t understand something about a graph you can just call your teacher. They also have video tutorials on how to do most of the assignments and they do live lessons as well. It’s not a hard class. And you have access to the course for the whole year to review for the AP exam.

Thanks Kassypx3. What are the tests like? Are they online multiple choice tests? Are there instructors you can consult with if you’re struggling with lessons? Also can you request for extra practice problems or stuff like that?
