Hey craintrain, I agree that sandals are not always a good idea, but that’s probably how normal Georgetown undergrads dress anyway.

So last year they started hearing this week…I am certainly hoping for the same!!!

jedimasterham, i think you deff have a chance!
btw did you take SAT?

is georgetown everyone’s first choice?
and why so?

georgetown is without a doubt my first choice. i had the oppornity to visit numerous of times because my best friend goes there. i’m actually going this weekend for georgetown day and rugby formal so i’m really excited. anyway, i fell in love with dc and the overall spirit of the school. have you noticed the kids are so proud to go there?

sorry haha i’m doing anything to put off studying for my theo test!

hey sushi, I did take the SAT, like back in 2003, so I didn’t have to send it in to Georgetown, which is good, because my scores were average.

transfer1207 I am definitely in the same boat as you. It is just such a fantastic place and the campus is perfect and I love the student body. I reallllllly hope we start hearing this week…this is a slow painful death haha

i grew up in the dc area and its been a few years since i lived there, but every time I go back it has a homely feel to it. I also want to be in a large city, near a major airport and from a respectable school. I am not interested in suburban life at all. I love the city more than the school, there just happen to be no other schools in the dc area that interest me. And I’ve been a Georgetown bball fan since I was a kid

are decisions really going out may 1st? i can’t wait any longer!

I called today and they told me not to expect to hear from them until June 1st. If you need to know sooner (applying to other universities that need to hear back from you) they said to call a week ahead of time to find out if you should expect to be rejected or accepted.

it’ll be around the beginning of May.

where do transfers live? also, do transfers only live with transfers?

I haven’t had much luck finding out the best place for transfers or an upper classman to live if you don’t feel like living in group dorms. I spoke to two prior students who I’m friends with and if you plan to spend a lot of time on campus or get heavily involved in student life, they advised the following if you don’t live in the dorms:

“My advice is to live either in front of campus, in Burleith, Foxhall, or right across the bridge in Rosslyn. Any place further out would hinder your ability to get involved as much as you want to be”.

If someone wants to start up a housing thread and ask me questions they can. I don’t want to clog this thread up with it though.

its definitely may 1st and we were told when I went for the transfer tour and information session, mid May the latest

Is anyone else going as crazy as I am waiting…I’m beginning to think I’m crazy haha

craintrain you are not alone. i think one way or another all of us are going crazy waiting.

yeah, i am too. I wonder how long i’ll wait to open it. Maybe I’ll say a prayer first, or open it in a church or something

^ haha i like that idea.

i’m away at school! i’m hoping they send my letter to my school and home. i would go nuts if i have to wait until i come home for summer to open it.

do they send the letters to both school and home? or do they just pick one address? this waiting thing is getting annoying.

hey craintrain, I’m pretty anxious about decisions as well. Of course, I know I likely won’t get into SFS since I haven’t fulfilled most of the core prerequisites, but I know I’d do well there. Knowing that, I’m somewhat content not getting in as long as I excel wherever I’m at. Would be nice to be around more like-minded students though…
