Citymom: Good luck to you and your daughter!

I called this afternoon and I have been rejected at Harvard. Finally, there is closure! The unknown was the weird part. I’m from Ohio, today was my last day of high school, my graduation party is tomorrow and I feel like the world is just out there waiting for all of us. Good luck to all parents and fellow 2008 graduates. We all have amazing opportunities in front of us. As for me, I will be attending Columbia which clearly is where I am meant to be. I am mostly a stalker to this board but the words of wisdom have been fabulous. Take Care!

I just tried to call but they were closed! I hate time differences!

APLinke: I will probably be headed towards Dartmouth next year too if it turns out that Harvard “lets me go”.

shoooot. i forgot to call. ah~ i wanted to end this

Called a few hours ago, and I got rejected as well. Pretty disappointing but at least there’s no more waiting.

Thanks everyone and good luck!

woww you people going to brown are sooo lucky. it was my first choice, but i got rejected.

I’m going to miss all of you when this process is done!

if i havent heard anything should i assume i got rejected? i havent been following this thread and im sick of thinking i should wait to hear from them before buying my plane ticket to philly just in case

If you haven’t gotten mail by next week, then you are still on the waiting list.

i wouldn’t assume you got rejected. rejection letters for first round where sent out on Weds. 5.21.08 by mail or you can call the admissions office, where they’ll inform you of your current status. are you comfortable calling? if so, i’d give them a call monday.

Like alot of people I’ve been reading this post religiously from the very beginning. I called H yesterday and found out that I’m still on the waitinglist! I was sure it was over and was preparing for the worst. I guess I can handle two more weeks of waiting if it means getting a chance to go to Harvard!

Mail just came…thin letter. She hasn’t seen it yet, but it’s surely the denial letter. Oh well. Hoya saxa!

Called in yesterday: “waitlist reject.”

Anyone else headed up to Washington University in St. Louis?

I just wanted to wish all those still on the waitlist the best of luck as the second round begins!! As we have seen, not everyone is accepting their offers, so there is HOPE. And for those who were not accepted, I also wish you much luck wherever you are going. I’m sure you will all be attending excellent schools and will do well wherever you go!

Blessings,
matador360

Just picked up denial letter here in Texas

Andy_G-I would not assume that you are rejected. Unfortunately, since Monday is a holiday, the admissions’ office probably won’t be open until Tuesday.

Does anyone have any information on how many they are keeping on the waitlist?–or does anyone know if they did accept the 200 and our only chance is from those not accepting? I don’t even know if my s is still on the list, all I know is we still have not received a letter in today’s mail and we are in the northeast.

thin letter just arrived. thank God! i am relieved. i was praying for it, as we are all so happy with Princeton. i did not want my son to have to think about another decision. we are blessed!

blessings to all of you!

I haven’t received a letter yet and I am in Illinois… would this mean I’m still on the waitlist?

Also, any speculation as to how many people made the “second round” for the waitlist? (I know there is no definitive answer about this, but some speculation never hurts)

I have no idea and this is totally speculation, but it seems to me that it wouldn’t make sense to remove any less than 100 to 150 in the first round. It appears that this is the case based on the numbers we’ve seen here
