Less than 4 weeks until the deadline! I’m super excited!

Just submitted by SCEA application last night! So nervous!!
Anyone else sent in stuff yet?

Also, guys, join my “Harvard Hopefuls” group; it’s just a great place for us to talk about our hopes, dreams, fears, etc., without being judged
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/groups/harvard-hopefuls.html

Woops, haven’t even done my supplemental essay yet.

Do you think I should submit 800 M2, 800 Physics, and 750 chemistry, or just my 2 800’s? I’m leaning with submitting all three.

^Submit all 3.

Yeah thanks, I did end up submitting all 3.

Neut: really?

Humblebrag much?

So Princeton was gonna get SCEA app. I visited yesterday and liked it a lot.

But after visiting Harvard today…wow. I’m going to have to rethink my number 1. Cambridge is breathtaking.

Question for everybody applying: is it pretty much implied that one should do the second supplement (2. You may wish to include an additional essay if you feel that the college application forms do not provide sufficient opportunity to convey…)? I really don’t have anything absolutely pressing that I’d write there, so I’m debating whether to leave it blank; but I don’t want to leave it blank if there’s something I don’t know about how Harvard perceives that.

Oh, and also, is it alright to submit both of my M2 scores? I got a 770 my Sophomore year and retook in Junior year and got an 800; I personally think it’s silly to withhold the 770, but what do you guys think?

Hey all - new to this thread.

@ckfy63a, I don’t see a problem either way, withheld or otherwise - they’re both good scores. I’m pretty sure I read in a few places that most adcoms just glance at your standardized test scores to see if they’re up to par with other applicants, and the 800 will catch their eye.

About the additional essay… bump. I’m still on the fence, but if I were to write an essay, it would be one that I’m going to submit to other colleges, too. I see no point in writing a brand new essay if it’s an open-ended topic, in my opinion. I’ve got far too many essays to write. However, I really do want to get into Harvard SCEA! I’m getting itchy to turn in my Common App… do you have to turn in a Common App before submitting SAT/ACT scores, or will they hold your scores on file and wait for your application to come through?

applying tomorrow!!! so scared.

and efeens i visited too and it was absolutely amazing. i loved how alive it was and how vibrant the city is! the people are so friendly. did you get a chance to go inside the science center?

WOOT!~~ Just submitted my application! Best of luck to all those applying between now and the 1st. Just be sure you don’t succumb to the Common App and all of its downtime and evils and whatnot.

Anyway, those who submit should join me in a week or two off from college applications. We’ve all put in 110% on these applications. :)

GUYS on my current year courses for my language class i wrote ‘hebrew 12 advanced’ in the beginning of the year but i switched to honors (it says hebrew 12 honors on my transcript). is this gonna be okay!?!

Hey everyone!

In the same boat as all of you and nervously waiting for the outcome of my SCEA.

I know the website says that decisions will be issued mid-December, but by that do they mean December 15th exactly? Or could it be a day or more earlier or later?

Thanks!

@ChabChab, according to the below website, we will find out Friday, December 13th, 2013.

[Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Freshman Application Process](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/application_process/index.html)

Hi Everyone,

I submitted my app (through the Common App site) about a week ago, and I did receive a confirmation email from the Common App itself that my app was sent to Harvard; however, I have not received any communication from Harvard itself confirming that they have my app. I know some schools ask you to set up an account where you can check your app status and confirm that they have all your materials - does anyone know if Harvard is also supposed to send this out? Thanks!

do the supplements and essay prompts change every year? ??
if yes…do you guys know what they were last year? ?

haha, probably not worth applying. By the way applicants, how long are your Extracurricular essays?

150 words (the max). Anything less feels like I’m underachieving, y’know? But I guess it’s quality over quantity in the end, anyway…

I wasn’t sure whether to make mine straightforward or add a little pizzazz - I did end up putting in a tiny story to pull it together, is that kind of what is expected?
