Official Harvard SCEA Class of 2018 applicants thread

FYI, I checked last year’s threads. It seems that they got theirs Thursday December 13 at 6 pm EST, despite initial claims of releasing decisions on December 15. Correct me if I’m wrong. I happen to be home sick today so I have all the time in the world to browse through old threads, haha…

Maybe Dec 12th (Thursday) - my guess, because previous years - December 13, 2012 (Thursday) and December 15, 2011 ( Thursday) . Previous 2 years SCEA decision released on Thursdays.

^
Good guy Harvard
Releases results on Thursday so students can decide if they wanna skip school friday

^ Lol, if I get in I skip because I deserve it. If I don’t get in, I skip because I ain’t tryin to have 50 people ask me “DID YOU GET IN???” a day after rejection. It’s a win-win!

Hey all. First post on this thread! Does anyone happen to know Harvard’s stance on receiving 1st quarter report cards? I couldn’t find anything addressing it on the admissions website. Thanks in advance!

Also, has anyone else had an on campus interview? David L. Evans, a senior admissions officer, interviewed me in addition to my alumni interiew.

They might ask you for quarter grades if you are a candidate right on the edge, our at least that’s what I heard. My friend had an on campus interview and said it was alright

^depends largely on the other parts of your application, they have a holistic process after all

I submitted my application materials a few days before the deadline, and received the portal email a few days afterwards.

After requesting and then waiting for my access code many times (I also tried today), I still haven’t received a code.

Should I be worried at this point? I’ve already been contacted + finished an alumni interview while waiting for the code.

Phlog, I’m no expert, but it probably doesn’t hurt to contact Harvard.

On another note, if my SAT score from November was automatically sent in and there was a jump from the score they already have (2250 to 2320) do I need to notify the admissions or anything?

^No, they’ll know it’s your new score and take that into account.

Harvard has officially received all of my stuff. It’s go time.

Any applicants from the Twin Cities region receive interview info yet? I submitted my app on 10/29 and the portal says they have all the required stuff, but I have yet to be given an interview day/time…

Can you guys believe we get decisions in 3 WEEKS?!?!

^YOU. Do NOT remind me. XD
Seeing as we’re likely to float around here for the next couple weeks, what’d you guys do this summer?
For me, #hshsp2013

^I took a creative writing class at a noted university (won’t go into too much detail, trying to stay anonymous and whatnot :)). SO much fun!!!

Guys, while you’re waiting for your admissions results, watching this is a good way to pass some time: [Harvard Tours Yale: The Game 2013 - YouTube](<a href=“Harvard Tours Yale: The Game 2013 - YouTube”>Harvard Tours Yale: The Game 2013 - YouTube)

The Harvard/Yale game is tomorrow!

Hey guys

I’m an international applicant from a country where there are no interviewers. I just received an email from a Harvard admission officer (I guess that’s different from an interviewer) and she says she wants to have a phone conversation with me. Should I be excited (even a little bit)?

ATG: Harvard international applicants, according to anecdote, are offered interviews and contacted if they are progressing through the evaluation process – i.e. not rejected immediately. I think this is a good sign. Good luck to you.
