^ lol this guy/girl doesn’t understand high school basketball

Rickys: Mine took one day

My Test email took a day too

@diddly123, Lol, no, I don’t think my coach will let me skip a basketball game to check my decision. I’m probably going to keep it a secret anyway unless I get in, lol. I’ll just have to bear the extra 3 or 4 hour wait. :(

Oh dear, I just realized the horrible typing error in my post from way above. Please just ignore the extra “I have a basketball game”. It’s really bothering me but I can’t edit it…

@efeens and collegeluva i’m probably just used to my high school where we’re given probably an excess of freedom lol

if i have way too much homework for instance my tennis coach will almost tell me to just leave anyway cause that’s more important xD even though i wouldnt ask to leave for something as trivial as that

The way I see it, our prolific activities (such as the basketball name collegeluva101 mentions, or interning somewhere) are a part of the reason why we set our sights on Harvard in the first place; so I don’t see the point in missing any activities just for the decision.

For me personally, I’ll be working on Thursday the 12th at 5 pm, so if decisions are released then, I’ll just wait 1.5 more hours (I mean, I’ve already waited much longer than that, 1.5 hours seems like no time at this point). More likely, if the release is Friday the 13th at 5 pm, I will have just ended an activity, so I’ll be able to check as soon as decisions come out!

^That’s a good way to look at it. In addition, keep in mind that the email can always come late, in which case it won’t much matter if you have an activity during 5 pm (or whenever they officially come out). Last year, it took over an hour after the official release time for me to receive my admissions decision.

I miss the days when everyone had to go to the mailbox…all you knew was the week letters might be mailed out…you went to the mailbox looking for fat envelopes every day. You met the mailman everyday at the end of the driveway. You delayed opening skinny envelopes. You could not text your friends. The day after you received the letter, you put on the t-shirt of the top choice you were accepted to and wore the shirt to school. Everyone cheered when you walked into school. It is so much more stressful (and less fun) for kids nowadays.

Good luck everyone! Wherever you wind up, you will love the school you ultimately matriculate to :)

Well I’ve applied to Harvard SCEA and I have a few questions. Yale and many other prestigious schools came out with their early applicant numbers. Harvard came out with theirs at the end of November last year. They increased as everyone probably already knows. Does anyone know when they will come out with those numbers? If so, do you think they will be lower since H didn’t extend their EA deadline? Also, do the emails get sent out on the 12th or13th? Last year they were released on Thursday the 13th.
Thanks!

@Malted Someone earlier posted that they called the admissions office and the office said that the decisions will be sent out on the 13th.

Is anyone else finding it almost impossible to work on regular apps until you hear from Harvard? I’ve attempted to start my other apps but haven’t made any progress.

I’ve actually found working on other applications to be a good distraction from the anxiety of waiting to hear back from Harvard.

Is anyone else finding it difficult to focus in school until next Friday? I have literally just been sitting passively in class, thinking about my SCEA decision. It’s so bad.

I am not Harvard SCEA but am ED at Middlebury, and yes. I am just trying to keep as busy as possible. I have a paper open in another window I should be doing. Crap.

My school doesn’t typically send first quarter senior grades with early applications. Should I ask my guidance counselor to send my grades now? Or should I wait and see if admissions requests them?

I wanted to go see Catching Fire with a friend that Friday, but I might reconsider. I’d be too emotionally strung out over decisions to enjoy a movie, I think…

I have to attend a Key Club board meeting the day after I get my decision. I’m going to be too depressed to even help them plan anything and they’ll hate me and it’s going to be awful, oh my word.

Seriously, every one of these next 9 days is going to be an epic struggle.

I am not gonna be too bummed If I don’t get in, but I my entire friggin’ grade knows I applied. My mistake, I shouldn’t have told anyone!

By the way guys, if you are accepted, good for you. If you are rejected, you are in good company!

@neutrality i’m with you, somehow my entire grade knows too! i only told my close friends and i’m suddenly getting questions like ''oh, how was your interview?" or “hey you applied to HARVARD right?” it’s honestly awful
