Official Harvard SCEA Class of 2019 Applicants Thread

Which of course is 95% likely

i mailed in a copy of my resume and answers from my harvard summer school app a while ago. anyone know if these should show up on the applicant portal? i also sent in transcripts from college classes i’ve taken and those are there…

@Zerowulf‌ I’m not the person to apply from my school, but every person that has applied from my school has been rejected/waitlisted…even the very very best.

I’m not any better than them but I thought I’d waste my money and hopes on it anyway. And yes, I will be extremely disappointed (but not surprised) if I don’t make the cut.

So guys if you don’t get into harvard what are you other schools/top choices?

@seabasstiano‌ anything that is not strictly required (ex. teacher recs and school report) will not show up on the portal. the only exceptions are things you personally upload through the portal.

So are decisions really being sent out on the 11th? I don’t know why I thought the 15th.

@Jessdilla2015 We should get an official email confirming the 11th in the next few days.

It’s really scary because I know in my heart I’m getting rejected but this part of me still hopes and that’s the worst

@jalebigirl at least you don’t have the pressure of ~2 kids going to every ivy every year…it’s crushing

My school had like 7 to Ivies and like 30 to top 25 schools haha talk about pressure

@Zerowulf

@jalebigirl‌ that’s what i thought but my college transcripts do show up so i’m confused… and those were mailed as well. idk.

@Zerowulf‌ I’m an Indian girl. There are expectations, whether anyone admits them or not.
Last year, one girl went to Yale, one to Brown, and another to MIT. We’ve just never had a Harvard acceptance.

But no one will hate you if you don’t get in. At some point, admissions really does become a lottery, whether anyone wants to admit it or not. There are simply more qualified applicants than spots.

Chin up! No point being pessimistic now!

@entrebusecon‌ wow!

@seabasstiano‌ hmmm :confused:
Call the office?

Will Harvard look at the school’s average ACT/SAT score for a comparison of how well we did?

@Jalaquan‌ I don’t think so. That seems a bit overkill.

@Jessdilla2015‌ Welcome! I wish you luck!!

@Jessdilla2015‌ Omg me too!!! I keep telling myself not to keep hopes up but i just cant stop myself from thinking about that tiny chance of getting accepted and becoming a harvard student… This will make me feel worse if i find out that i am deferred :o

@jalebigirl‌ OK thanks! I was just asking because my interviewer asked for it.

@mindyru‌ @Jessdilla2015‌

Totally know what you guys mean. Even the most pessimistic part of my brain is a teensy bit optimistic.

The best part is that I know I have absolutely NO RIGHT to feel optimistic.
