@youngster9
bad

@youngster9 i simultaneously love and hate you for making that countdown clock

20 hours over a week…wow

^^2222

Ok dumb question… if accepted, do we receive financial aid estimates around the same time? Or do we have to wait for FAFSA?

@azoresboy12 You will receive an estimate if accepted next week. But in March, when RD applicants find out their decisions, you will receive an updated value. The value you receive now is only an estimate, but it will probably be pretty accurate. If I am wrong, anyone correct me.

@youngster9 thats what i thought, thanks!

@calliemoon11 no i wasnt asked for it. Do you think they ask for quarter grades only to those who are more likely to be given admissions? Could this mean that im probably deferred or rejected? :’(

@mindyru i wouldn’t worry…your counselor could have just submitted them automatically like mine, or it could mean that your grades up to junior year are good as they are and the commitee doesn’t need further academic evidence for you

@mindryu While my grades aren’t a disaster, they’re a bit below average for Harvard (I have a 3.8 UW), so maybe the admissions officers wanted more information about my academic performance? So, if they didn’t ask you for yours, that only means that the admissions office doesn’t require any further information about you academically. :)

Oh my. My grades are definitely subpar by Harvard standards and I haven’t been asked for my second marking period grades.

My GPA’s a 3.8-3.9 UW, and 4.13 W

Hope officially destroyed. :’(

@jalebigirl There is no need to read into such a minute detail. First, we find out in a week, so this isn’t the time to lose hope. Second, and more importantly, as calliemoon said they will only be asking people that they are worried about academically.

REMEMBER: Academics don’t matter when it comes to actual acceptances. They only are required to prove you can survive the difficulty of Harvard’s course load. What does matter, is you as a person. Chin up :D

Applied on a whim for fuck’s sake. I know I won’t get in but my interview went really well. Like amazingly well. But I’m no 2400 5.0 GPA gal ¯_(ツ)_/¯ best of luck to you guys!!! Hopefully I’ll get into my actual top choice (this was more of “if pigs fly” kinda thing LOL) still can’t believe I applied to harvard oh my gosh. I didn’t even tell my friends I was so embarressed but a part of me still hopes of course I mean I don’t have bad test scores or GPA but average to your eyes (the elitest nerds of college confidential) but good luck guys lol

This is kinda cool. Harvard. Wow. If I got in I would be like a legend at my school. Two guys got into Yale last year but no one has ever got into Harvad (we’re only a few years old so don’t judge!)

But seriously best of luck to all you guys! You’ve probably worked your whole life for this. But remember it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get in. Agh the waiting is killing me. I know I’m getting rejection but the waiting is the worst.

@youngster9 Thank you for the reassurances. My school’s a really small unconventionally religious private school so I don’t even think they’ll put too much stock into my grades. We don’t rank (phew!) so standardardized test scores are probably more important to them anyway.

Me as a person is a bit too high-strung right about now to think of myself positively ‘as a person’

But best of luck to you! based on this thread you seem super accomplished and nice. i’m sure (for what that’s worth) the adcoms will see that!

@soccerlover17 @calliemoon11 my quarter grades werent out when my counselor sent the transcripts so its probably that they dont require it. I hope i am still in the game! Thanks for your replies and good luck! :)

Can’t wait till we post our decisions! Haha! Has anyone made a decisions thread yet?

Wait we find out on December 11th??? I thought it was the 15th!!!

I’m actually kind of amazed at all you guys…first person to apply to Harvard from your schools and what not…I never would’ve had the courage to make a jump like that…Im almost afraid I’ll fail expectations at my school if I get deferred
