@Visionary123 I don’t know where you got your info, but it is wrong. Ivy League rules state that HYP can recruit a maximum of 230 athletes per year. The reality for Harvard is the number is closer to 200-205. Last year, 992 applicants were admitted SCEA, so that’s nowhere near 60% athletic recruits.

@Visionary123 that doesn’t leave much room for the rest of us : /

Sorry, my bad, I didn’t mean for Early Action only - I meant for both the Early Action and Regular Decision applicant pools combined. And, it’s true, my estimate was a little off, as last year the total number of recruited-athletes (EA and RD) represented a 40% of the students accepted. I truly apologize…

^I got the 40% information from last year’s class survey. Look it up on the Crimson (I don’t the link to survey with me right now).

@Visionary123 class of 2018 recruits made up 11% of the class. In 2017 it was 12.5%. Lol dont freak out people

Yeah, still wrong @Visionary123

<a href=“The Harvard Crimson | Class of 2018 By the Numbers”>http://features.thecrimson.com/2014/freshman-survey/admissions/

“A total of 1,026 students participated in varsity athletics in the 2012-2013 academic year—nearly one in six of Harvard undergraduates.” (<a href=“The Other Field of Study | The Harvard Crimson”>http://features.thecrimson.com/2013/other-field-study/) Mind you, these numbers also include walk-ons, so, as others have pointed out, nowhere near 60 or 40%.

I’m wrong, and I apologize for any confusion I may have caused - it wasn’t my intention. I guess my sources of information (two current Harvard freshmen) were trying to freak me out. I’ll make sure to double check my sources next time. Sorry…

When are they going to release the info!

@Jalaquan I always have the same problem with the smiley faces!

Did any of your counselors get a call from Harvard, asking to provide marking period grades?

@mindryu I got asked for my first quarter grades in early November. Did you??
