Official Harvard SCEA Class of 2019 Applicants Thread

I’m excited and nervous at the same time.

@calliemoon11‌ we can make it. We’re gonna make it! BLEED CRIMSON, wait… we already do 8-|

And I really can’t figure out what I’m expecting, which makes it worse! Some days, I feel like I have a very good chance…and others, I feel like I’ll never get in.

In less than a week, our lives can change forever.

I’ve been following this thread for a few months and the suspense is too much I had to create an account this morning lol. i just really wish I took harvards advice about not getting emotionally attached.

@calliemoon I feel you…this time a year a go I had given up on the “Harvard dream” on account of my grades, but after I realized I couldn’t apply ED to cornell because of my financial situation, my parents convinced me to apply SCEA to harvard, and of course now I love it again lol…i keep catching myself thinking I’m going to get in, and then I’m like “you idiot you aren’t going to get it!”

OK: to liven up this post again - when did your Harvard dream start or what is your favorite thing about Harvard?

(after D-Day we can talk about what we hate about Harvard  )

EVERYTHING.
science people: you know how a journal is recognized by its ‘impact factor’? Harvard’s impact factor surpasses that of even its closest competitors.
The sad thing is that it’s not all hype; Harvard is actually super awesome.

The thing that worries me about Harvard: I don’t want getting into a top school to be the most impressive thing I ever do in my life. If I’m rejected, at least I’ll be motivated to work harder. If I get in, I’ll feel so validated as a human being that I might just sink into stagnation.

TOO MUCH HONESTY.

When I was younger (like 3-4) my mom would always tell me “you’re going to grow up and go to Harvard to be a lawyer!” of course I didn’t even know what she was talking about but I always grew up thinking “one day I’ll go to Harvard and be a lawyer” of course by the time I got to high school I realized how hard that actually would be and that I didn’t want to be a lawyer. But it still stuck that I wanted to go to Harvard and here I am, 15 years later!

Oops wait i can log in to my portal haha i was entering the wrong password lol

LOL @mindyru, when I am nervous, I can type"Harvard: wrong.

I really only got interested in Harvard this spring. Previously I was a stalwart Duke fan. Because of financial considerations I decided not to apply ED to Duke, so I started looking for other schools and Harvard caught my eye.

I love that! D-Day! Too clever ;)

I didn’t even think about Harvard until September, so I’m not all that attached. It would just be nice to get in now since everyone knows I’ve applied. Plus, I’d be done with college applications. There are so many other amazing schools out there, that not getting into Harvard wouldn’t kill me, though I would love to be a part of the class of 2019!!!

@LukeShapiro96‌ welcome to the thread! I’m also emotionally attached to harvard, don’t know if it’s a good thing or not
@Jessdilla2015‌ I love everything about Harvard! The atmosphere, the professors, the very thought of it!
My harvard dream first started when my teacher told me that I had all the qualities to get in and that i should definitely apply.(about a year ago) I started researching Harvard and fell in love with it! It was so perfect…

Its so funny, whenever one of you writes “D-Day”, I immediately think Doomsday, but then remember you mean Decision day! Wishing you all the best of luck, counting down the days with you!

If anyone is nervous, this video will definitely make you laugh! And take your mind off harvard for 3 minutes!

It definitely feels like Doomsday lol. b-(

9 months ago my top choices were Northwestern and Carnegie Mellon. Harvard wasn’t even on my list. Now, I’m not applying to either of my original favorites and I chose Harvard SCEA. Has anyone else drastically changed their college list over the last year?

My parents don’t even know I’m getting the descion this Thursday and if I get in I’ll be moving over 2,000 mi from home next fall :expressionless:

@amberlee9‌ same here… They think it’s some time soon but they don’t know the exact date yet!
Btw u want to become a lawyer? What major do u want to do?
I also want to become a lawyer
