Official Harvard SCEA Class of 2019 Applicants Thread

@jalebigirl‌ I suppose I’m a lucky one lol

My supplemental recommender let me read hers. Almost cried lol

@jalebigirl‌ all my recs let me read them and even add or change stuff !

It’s not a lucky ‘few’, it’s a lucky majority! Ahh I’m really nervous now!!

@efr009‌ Wait there was a glitch sending out early decisions? Has anyone else heard about this?

Hi guys, Im a long time CC “observer,” on this thread and many many others, and now thats its finally a week before decisions, I created my account!!! Nice to meet you guys.

@seagb1‌ hello and welcome! And may the odds be ever in your favor!

Harvard DOES NOT release those stats until their official SCEA announcement, which will appear in the Harvard Gazette, as it did last year: <a href=“992 admitted under Early Action — Harvard Gazette”>http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2013/12/992-admitted-under-early-action/

does that imply the odds were in my favor initially? I’m not sure that is the case!

Is it still likely that decisions will be released 12/11? Given that we haven’t received any e-mail/confirmation on the website…

Wow, all you guys have so many letters of recommendation haha. I only had the required ones (2 teachers, 1 counselor). Hopefully that won’t put me at too much of a disadvantage.

I had 3 recs. 2 were from teachers, and 1 was from a sophomore year teacher who is my 4-year math team coach.

@seagb1‌ haha just a Hunger Games reference

I had 4 recs including my counselor, all three were some of my favorite teachers. One was my NHS advisor whom I’ve known since 7th and the other from the field/EC I wanna go in that I’ve also known since 7th grade

I had 4 recs too - 1 counselor, 2 teachers, and 1 from the head of the lab I’ve been working at for about a year and a half. I didn’t get to read any of my letters, but I caught a glimpse of my lab letter and it was like 3 pages long! Hopefully 3 pages of good things :/

One from my government and US history teacher. And one from my English teacher last year. And then one from my counselor. And I signed the waver to not read them.

@NinetyNeinProbs‌ , I guess we are in the same boat on that one! (2 teacher and 1 counselor rec.)

Btw I don’t if I want to make a video of my reaction…depends on how I feel at the moment… At second thoughts, I might as well make a video, don’t have anything to lose! Either way, it will be a life changing moment!
;

Hey everyone with decision day close by I thought I’d join in the discussion! I’ve been looking through the forum and is it true decisions come on the 11th?

Welcome, @seagb1‌ and @doppelganger21‌! @doppelganger21‌, that’s what we’ve heard when we called the admissions office, but we’re still awaiting the official e-mail confirmation.

anyone here from nyc?
