@Bemusedfyz the office isn’t that mysterious… It’s really just mixed opinions of ppl. And one can easily intern or work in it

What are all of you guys planning on concentrating in?

I’ll go first, computer science!!

Edit: Someone has got to help me with the emojis

hoping to do a joint concentration in English and Econ, and maybe if I have time attempt to start studying Mandarin…and yeah I feel you with the emojis…

wow still dont get them lol

Hoping to concentrate in art history. Fogg museum just reopened after 6 years… excited to check out

compsci :x

comp sci LOL
too bad im XY

@Lanie49 No problem! Haha I just got it from this thread! One person posted that a person he or she knew got recruited as an athlete and that her likely letter stated the 11th, and another person called and confirmed with the admissions office.

Though this isn’t an official major or concentration, I’m planning to study arts administration. I’m most likely going to major in English.

Does harvard give weight to the selected major? I know it says the admissions process is holistic, but still.

I’m just really excited to prove everybody wrong who said I’d never get in. However if I don’t get in… HAHAHA. Honestly, I forget about the whole shebang until I check this forum everyday. Also I have no idea what to concentrate in, because I know what I enjoy studying, but there are so many options I’ve never been exposed to in high school, and I definitely want to do some exploring. I’m totally in love with writing though. Writing for the Daily Crimson is something I think about on the reg. hahaha. God, I’m excited. Seriously hope Harvard sees my potential.

@skslxxbjk I don’t know for sure, I’ve never spoken to admissions about it, but I would assume that your selected concentration does matter at least a little because they have to make sure that students have a diversity of academic interests. More than concentration I guess (since some people instinctively select the least popular concentration on purpose because they think it gives them a small advantage), harvard must at least have some sense from your essays, teachers, or otherwise, what you are interested in studying, and that definitely plays some sort of a role in admission decisions.

Does anyone know yet if the number of EA applicants went up or down this year?

@Burke1 I’m not sure if Harvard released their numbers, but Penn and Dartmouth received record-high early applicant numbers, while Yale and Brown’s numbers decreased slightly. I’m guessing Harvard’s increased slightly but not as significantly as Penn’s.

@oxoxhawja3xoxo @skslxxbjk (Man, your usernames are an adventure to type!) I was wondering about that, too! My prospective career is a highly specific, rather uncommon field of interest, so I specified my aspiration in my additional information section because it really is an important part of who I am, and of course, I also hoped that the uniqueness of it might give me a leg up. We’ll see how it all goes

What is with the emojis?

im predicting a significant increase in applicants this year along with a ~15% SCEA acceptance rate

@skslxxbjk - Stanford had more apps than H last year. Might be the case this year as well?
