I was called in for an interview last week (I live half an hour from boston) and the guy had already ready my file twice so at least we know that they’re really giving it some thought and not just glancing at it.

Thank you so much, @PcollegegirlP! Your words truly mean a lot to me, they really do! I’m glad to see that we have the same passion for Harvard! emotional So, I truly that our dreams of getting in become a reality! emotional
I, too, hope that Harvard sees how much you can contribute to their community! Likewise, you sound awesome and like the kind of person who will be a good, true and supportive friend. It would be a pleasure to meet you and actually get to know each other if we both get accepted. You got this! :-)

How did you guys attack your “expand on ECs” essay? I must admit mine was very dull, I literally just expanded on what I did. I am kicking myself now. I should have written about what I learned, not what I did.

@ entrebusecon I talked about what the EC meant to me…I’ve grown up with it so that helped

@entrebusecon are you referring to the writing supplement?

@entrebusecon… I started out just listing stuff I did, but then I completely switched over to a different EC and changed my writing style. I did tie in what I learned and how I improved, etc. Honestly, I don’t think it matters that much-- a 150 word essay doesn’t need to be a masterpiece.

ohhh that one

Guys we’ll all be okay. Acceptance, deferral, or rejection, you guys are all wonderful people. It’s up to the hands of the committee now (eep), so there’s no point in freaking out about things we would/could/should have done.

http://emergencycompliment.com/

Edit: Slightly hypocritical as I was spilling my brains out a few pages ago and I’m still jittery but let’s just all take a deep breath!!! :')

@entrebusecon I talked about how my EC has played a part in my growth as a person and what it means to me. I’m sure that your essay was not dull and that by talking about what you did, you gave the readers a better idea of who you are and what you’ve done - that’s all any of us can really hope to do with it.

Also I’m trying so hard to work on other applications (so I don’t kick myself later for not getting any done) but I can’t focus on them because TEN (or eleven, who knows) DAYS LEFT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO BREATHE FOR A WEEK

@skslxxbjk dat website though! “a doctor once saw your butt and they approve”

@hnorelle I’m partially frustrated because idk if it’s 10 or 11 days! AAAAHHHHH!!!

@ekroxx assume its 11, and that way if it’s 10, you get pleasantly surprised!

^ He knows what’s up.

**pleasantly/unpleasantly

@Zerowulf great point! Also, did you have an on-campus interview or an off-campus interview with an alumni?

@entrebusecon I talked about how the EC posed an intellectual challenge for me and how the experience was more than a learning experience than a teaching experience. I expanded on it to include why I love the activity (encourages curiosity, gain perspective on things you once thought were mundane, etc.) It was a pretty tightly packed 150 words, to say the least.

@Zerowulf I thought alumni interviewers don’t read our files? Please correct me if I’m wrong though!

@ekroxx @Ambitious19 I had an alumni interview 3 weeks ago and then my regional admissions officer called me and asked me to come in for an on campus interview last week.

@entrebusecon I’m sure your essay was fine! Mine was a humorous take on a volunteer service organization I decided to found. Anyway, the 150 word essay couldn’t have had a HUGE impact… right?

@skslxxbjk @entrebusecon I wrote about why I love math team!

Why were you invited to have a second interview? Are you in the Boston area? Do you know any of the facts?
