I submitted update last Thursday, they added it to my application yesterday!

Is there a difference between Harvard college and harvard University

@clumsy456 Do you know if they actually considered it for the admissions process? Or do you think you submitted it too late? I updated near that time as well.

@NASA2014 I don’t believe so.

They sent me an email that they added it and it will help my application

@NASA2014 Harvard College is a school within Harvard University which grants undergraduate degrees. Harvard University contains a number of schools, including Harvard College, Harvard Business School, Harvard Medical School, etc.

Gah! Should I have sent an update? Other than the abstract they asked me to send, I didn’t send anything new!

FWIW, I sent no updates.

@NASA2014 If you are lucky enough to be admitted, your admissions letter will come from Harvard College. That letter is quite frameable, BTW.

@clumsy456 What did the email say? Was it an automated email?

I’m asking because I might apply to harvard after I finish my community college era. I have penn state as my number one. I’m going for meteorology, but I don’t think Harvard even offers that :(

Ya it was automated

got rejected.

@rosebud1997 It’s okay! There are lots of wonderful colleges that will be delighted to have you! (Are results somehow out…?!)

Apparently my application was “incomplete” and my SAT scores never reached Harvard. I’m going to be complaining to CollegeBoard and see if I can fix this.

Just found out a few minutes ago that I was named an alternate for the United States Senate Youth Program! (only two students are chosen per state and two alternates). Should I send an update?

@rosebud1997 i am very sorry to hear this. Unfortunately though, if Harvard wanted you based upon the rest of your application, they would have sent you a notification asking for your scores. They wouldn’t have rejected you without giving you that chance if it would have been the game changer. Know that the rejection was nothing you can control, and it was not on the basis of anything that you or the collegeboard did or did not do. There are so many other amazing schools out there, and I know that you will get accepted to the one that is the best fit for you. A rejection from Harvard simply means that they did not believe you belonged there, and there is no sense in wanting to attend a school that doesn’t value you as much as you value it.
I’ve been telling myself the same thing in preparation for whatever result, good or bad that I receive next week. Best of luck in the rest of your college search, seriously. You will be just fine!

@rosebud1997 I’m so sorry. That’s awful. I wish you the best.

@rosebud1997 I’m really sorry to hear that! Don’t be put down by one defeat, see this as an opportunity to grow! I know it’s hard to do so, but u can’t really do anything else! I’m sure u will end up somewhere amazing… Wish you all the best!

@AuTurtle I called about updates, and they said that any new updates sent will not be considered. Apparently, only updates sent before 11/15 are guaranteed to be looked at, and anything after Thanksgiving break will almost definitely not.

@skslxxbjk Ah okay, thank you!
