@rosebud1997 did they really do that ? Like did they send you an official e-mail of rejection without even warning you that some materials were missing ? That’s so unfair !

I’ve been reading some of the posts for a little while now and finally decided to join in on the posting. I’ll also be applying for admission this year. Hopefully going into Classics.

@rosebud1997 anyhow don’t worry, you’ll be just fine. I’m sure something great is waiting for you somewhere else, and that no matter where you’ll go, you will have an awesome time !!! I know this must be hard, and I give you all my support - try to enjoy the little things in life (a warm bed, a good book, a hot cocoa) , and other things that are so much more important than going to Harvard (being alive and healthy and happy !) Ps : if you’re feeling down just send me a message and I’ll cheer you up
xx

@skslxxbjk Any update at all, like even one faxed from school? Or are you talking about portal updates from the student?

My teacher faxed her little letter today haha, but I had updated the portal with the info weeks ago.

@rosebud1997 what do you mean? rejected by who?
I’m sorry.

Well they replied to me! Haha I promise I’m not lying!

I guess I’m assuming the 12th as the decision day. It’d be pretty sick to get in on my birthday.

rosebud1977 - sorry to hear about your rejection letter. But, never fear. Most of the others on this site will receive the same letter in a few days. Not saying that to be mean at all. But as a parent, my D was in the same position as you all are this time last year (though from my avatar you can see at a different school). All of you will be fine and you will ultimately land at very good schools. All of the kids last year who did not get into HYP EA, got into some great school during the RD round. Some of them went on to other Ivy League schools and some went to the Wesleyans, Bowdoins, Emorys of the world.

Good luck and if you get into Harvard, you will enjoy it.

Hello guys the decision date is thursday the 11th. Confirmed by harvard admissions office. After 5:00 pm

^ “sorry to hear about your rejection letter” … “if you get into Harvard, you will enjoy it” …?

@harvard00 ahh!!!

@harvard00 thank you… My heart just skipped a FEW beats…pfff!

@harvard00 YUSSS

The nerves just hit lol.

@HobbitTon Same. Where did the time go? ._.

@harvard00

thanks for asking! And this is 100% sure? that’s odd since in years past it’s been around 3, but I’ll take anything a day early :)

@Melissawilliams I believe so. @clumsy456 I also received an automated email. I don’t think it means much if the committee had already considered you and made a decision before they received the information.

How did everyone get the 150 word limit for the EC essay :o ?? I used the Universal App and their limit is 6000 characters so I wrote a 710-word essay on it (and I thought they would read it!, really) I feel dumb now…

@mimosa26 On Common App it physically wouldn’t let us enter more than 150 words. Maybe the universal system is different? Did it specify word count anywhere and you just missed it?

@mimosa26 finally somebody who used the Universal App, I thought I was the only one!
I also wrote a long thing but I later realized that everyone was writing 150 , So i re- wrote my EC and made it into 150 words!
But Harvard can’t blame u, u wrote in the character limit
