***Official January 2015 SAT (US ONLY) THREAD***

Hey @needmoretime12‌ if you omit 6 then I might have to say you will get below 700 on the math. I remember the Oct. 2014 curve for math and omit 5 was about 710. I may be wrong, but as long as you only omit six then just hope this curve ain’t too harsh.

You should be fine.

Scared i misbubbled an answer for math. hopefully -1

Realistically I think that the math curve will be sorta like this: 800,770,750,720,700
Also the writing should be pretty nice since there were a couple very hard questions
And the reading should be just about normal
Anyone agree or disagree?

@emersonballer21‌ I thought the math curve was harder than average though??

@collegenow111‌ ehhh maybe 800,770,740,700 for math? Does that sound more reasonable?

praying for an easy reading curve …

so what are you guys doing to occupy your minds for the next 9 days?

What would you qualify as a good score for ivy standards for non native English speaker?

Does anyone know when the curves are released?

@vmiller77‌ when scores come out (the 12th)

8 days to go!

I haven’t taken the test yet, my test was rescheduled till February 21st and since only limited people will be taking the test on this date the curve used will be the national curve for the Jan 24th test. Praying the curve is really lenient so that my test, even if it’s much harder, won’t have an unrealistic curve.

@collegenow111‌

@vmiller7723‌ where did you read that your curve will be the same as the jan 24th one?

So @dan213 you think -6 will be a 700 lol or no . I’m confused. And in general do you think this math section was hard? Like do you think it will be lenient?

@collegenow111‌ I called collegeboard and they said that they usually base the curve of the new test on the national curve of the test that is originally scheduled. Otherwise, the curve would be based only on the people from New Jersey and Connecticut (eastern U.S.) that were rescheduled because of the snow.

@vmiller7723 That is interesting. I thought the curve is predetermined based on the experimental section. If what CB told you if true, then it tells me that CB’s curve is not based on the experimental section which most of us have thought so.

@love2cheeses‌ http://sat.collegeboard.org/scores/how-sat-is-scored

it says clearly that “a student’s score does not depend on how well others did on the same edition of the test”.

I have no clue why CB would contradict that on the phone w/ @vmiller7723‌

@collegenow111 “I have no clue why CB would contradict that on the phone w/ @vmiller7723‌”

I am wondering about that too.

do you think -2 on math will be a 760 or 750?
