Official June 2nd SATI Thread

What were the answer choices to the two passage question one?

So I guess the consensus is “scientists haven’t found a live squid”
That means I missed it :(

what was the answer to the question about primary sources and black female history and what the passage was primarily about

1 wrong math was a 780 for me last time

well colin maybe the 1st one stated but the second one didn’t say that anyone sighted a “live” squid, or that it was proven their account was false.

No!!! Passage 2 Never Mentioned Scientists

“what was the answer to the question about primary sources and black female history and what the passage was primarily about”

It was explaining the details surrounding and ramifications of a particular essay written beforehand.

Yeah but wouldn’t the phrase “if one is sighted” imply that none have been sighted as of yet, and where in passage 2 does it talk about scientists.

i want a 800 TTTTTTTTTTT
very jealous of those 22x people who got 2400.

I put about the topic/ramifications/process of the essay - for the black female history paragraph.

sratman, passage 1 and passage 2 didn’t explicitly mention any of the 5 choices, only the scientist one was mentioned in 1 and at least somewhat inferred in 2, so that shud be the more logical answer

It couldn’t be an unsightly contraption:
a. Tom Cruise wore invasaligns, thus they were not unsightly
b. A contraption is something that is through together haphazardly. NOT BRACES.
The answer had expensive in it.

i said both passages suggest that literature stretches the reputation of the squid

breakaway it IS unsightly contraption

She said tom cruise COULD HAVE worn invasaligns, but he didnt

btw…what is with CB and tom cruise. I remember him in naother SAT i took…

It’s the same with sightings though, mentioned in 1 and implied/inferred in 2

I got topic and ramifications as well. What were the choices for the debated squid question? anyone remember?

Does anyone even remember what the literary fiction answer for the squid comparison question was - and why its wrong?

^ that’s the answer i chose. People are saying scientists never examined a live squid, but i think the literary fiction choice is better

i agree with severed

It said literature embellishes the reputation of the squid…or something like that…

Colin lol?

you conjectured that the answer was “sightings have being false”, but neither passage 2 states NOR infer that anything was proven false. In fact there were no sightings at all according to 2, so how can something be proven to be false if if it was never even brought up.

That’s like saying the sandwich is dirty, but the sandwich was never made in the first place

It seems like the possible answers are:

 1. Purported sightings are all false.
 2. Scientists have yet to discover a live one.
 3. Literature distorts the facts about the squid.
