Official June 2nd SATI Thread

I had 2 CR back to back. That was sooo boring.

was automaton an answer?
what about the importunate/apocryphal one?
and which question was spate?

i got automaton. and gargantuum, and something with allay.
i don’t remember importunate/apocryphal. and it was spate.

I got automaton, and I don’t remember the rest. Were those experimental or something? [importunate/apocryphal]

o yeah i got automaton

hopefully. i think the the importunate/apocryphal was probably experimental. i did not have that one.

did anyone get 2 35 writing sections?? one should be experimental but no one so far has gotten an experimental writing sectionso far

I’m wondering how many CR I missed. Boy, do I hate CR. Generous curve please.

Also, for all of you angsting over writing, I noticed a comma splice on today’s test (I think). In the question where the answer was “both sell,” there was supposed to be a semi-colon before “both sell,” not a comma. So maybe CB will alter the curve because of this?

nmehta4, aquamarinee, et al: I think there were two questions dealing with what you are talking about on the squid passages.

The characteristics of the squid in parentheses (60 feet long, eight legs) were the author elaborating on his previous statement.

Authors of literature had to preface their stories of “attacks” with descriptions of the squid, since no one knew *** it was.

My memory is fading rapidly, so hopefully I didn’t provide any incorrect information.

you mean the competition between the two stores, each of which sells/selling?

echelon, i don’t think the second one was a different question. wasn’t 1 and 2 the same?

yes, the competition question

OOO. That’s what he was talking about. Thanks, Echelon.
Okay, so what was your question again? Now that we have that cleared up…

I noticed there was something incredibly awkward about that sentence too. So, it really WAS a semicolon missing?

i put a. (, each of which sells). it was between that and , each of which selling. there was no choice with a semicolon

thatnks aquamarine, thats wat i put now that i remember

does anoyone remember passages/questions from the very first sections

I know there was no choice with a semicolon…I thought it was weird they gave us a sentence with 2 errors in it.

No, a comma was right. What comes after the comma is not a complete sentence. (If I remember correctly, that is.)

sorry vfrizz, i see on another post you have already said that there was something wrong about that question.

nmehta, which question are you talking about in post 955?

Oh, wait. I think we’re talking about different sentences. Ignore me. ^ is right I think.
