Official June 2nd SATI Thread

Answer was 4pi.

yeah Andreaa I got 4 pi for the semicircle one

i disagree with godot on the question about the 2 paragraphs “paragraph 1 is a something and paragraph 2 is a subset.” there was nothing in there to prove that. i think it was the “passage 1 describes the people in biographies and passage 2 describes the process of writing it.”

jadore, I think you’re over thinking it.

the play was like the revival trap, jadore. I almost fell for it too but. The circulatory system is more specifically related to dissecting. the play answer is too vague

So far, my only incorrect answer has been “inaccessible/thwarted.” What an ill-conceived selection of answers, though! Aren’t sentence completions supposed to be relatively straightforward, after all?

I just remembered another tricky question from writing! I believe one of the grammatical errors was “those” because the sentence read, “…the number of _____ exceeds THOSE who…” How did everyone else answer?

tonyxwang the first passage also talked about writing biographies.

(sigh) i put circulatory at first and was sure play was right. but i have a tendency to overthink things.

koolmaria, for the candidate debate sc, did you put uproarious?

it was not those. it was that because it is the number.

People, get on AIM.

room: “june sat”

bschenkel, I agree. It’s a bad comparison. You can’t compare “the number” with “those,” it must be compared with “the number of those” or something along those lines.

I said E for that one bshenkel

but isn’t it supposed to be parallel? the number and the number. if it was no error then yall are saying the number and the numbers of blah

yeah jadore, I’m still kicking myself for that one…

For the biography passage, one of the correct answers was E) Passage 2 focuses on a subset of Passage 1. Whereas Passage 1 dealt with biographical writing in general, Passage 2 narrowed its scope to biographies whose subjects are, themselves, writers. Perhaps people confused “writers” with “writing”…

koolmaria, the entire passage mainly revolves around the boringness of the people in biographies, thats the only reason that they talk about how it’s written, to spice up the people’s lives.

I never remember the sentences after taking the writing portion bc they are so mundane. So i’m not exactly sure what I put. Alli remember is the number of E’s I had: 4

that biography one sucked.

i think it was 5 e’s (though i put 6)

 1. indigo
 2. chemically/biologically
 3. sir blahhhhh and the queen
 4. commercial logging
 5. the ancient collection at the museum

oh and what about the one where there was this polygon and all the lines of it had negative slopes, and which perpendicular line would be the largest. anyone remember that, or was it exp?

pretty sure that math question is experimental

and yeah those four questions were the hardest in cr.

yeah I know that Tony but I’m saying that answer just doesn’t fit bc both passages discussed the process of wrting biographies not just one.
