Official June 2nd SATI Thread

andreaaa I got circulatory system bc you dissect it… and the bio questions were insanely hard, so I forgot them. I think one question was comparing the two passages. I put first passage broad, second passage subset…probably wrong though…

I think it said “critics could not,” not “supporters could.”

i had ABCDE too. i cant remember about abcd though. i try not to look at the order of the bubbles so i dont freak myself out and want to erase stuff. but i def remember abcde.

do you guys remember a math one with a square with two half circles inside it. and it was find the area of the circles. and im pretty sure the answer was 4pi.

and does anyone remember the biographer questions. i thought those were the hardest cr questions.

i got an account of another planet…it is thorough, comparable

yeah jadore I read could too, and I went back and checked my work for that section…

but it was a picture of the heart, not an actual heart…

d4r7h3v1l, thanks. that makes sense now. gosh, i hate it when i have brain farts. i read it over and over and saw supporters. but i misread things a lot.
it makes sense now (sigh)

andreaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, what did you put for the question where everyone said heart? i swear that cannot be it.

koolmaria139, did you have an experimental cr about celebrities and society? i am thinking, hopefully, there was a mistake in that one for the test form.

For the one where you need the one with no solution, you merely have to find the value for which the lines are parallel (as in no intersection)

So, you solve for y in the first equation and put the second into slope-intercept form (if you’d like), and then set their slopes equal. -k=2/3, k=-2/3.

(I didn’t remember what variable was used)

oh and what about the one where there was this polygon and all the lines of it had negative slopes, and which perpendicular line would be the largest. anyone remember that, or was it exp?

and yeah heart seems wrong. i put historical picture, but then i changed it and put play.

Haven’t previous grammar questions been eliminated due to ambiguity? That over vs. more than thing is creeping the crap out of me.

i did the most drawn out way for the c question which was -2/3

first solved for y for first one. then substituted that for y in the second question. broke it down to solve for k in terms of k. then with the equation somehow replaced k with what i knew for x

wish i had more work to remember what i did.

I got “first passage was broad, and the second passage discussed a subset” as well.

I chose “circulatory system” for the encyclopedia question. This was apparent because the passage discussed taking apart and illustrating physical objects (and possibly biological systems) in the referenced portion.

The chemical/biological one should be E, No Error, since “or” is just fine (“and” would actually be inferior, since one probably isn’t going to use both types of methods simultaneously).

The answer is “spate” as opposed to “revival” because “revival” is a trap. It’s the interest in the period that is being revived, not the new Hollywood films about the period.

jadore_isabella,

I believe the SC question read “not even his most vehement critics” or something similar, so I believe you misunderstood or misread the sentence.

One answer that no one has discussed so far for SC was “caustic/trial” (the sentence discussed a critic’s review of the latest work of a popular author). Or maybe this question was too easy for all of you. :)

I think that over/more than one was definitely “no error”.

Godot, you sure that wasn’t experimental?

I don’t remember it.

It should be “circulatory system” because the passage explicitly states, at one point, that the material is “dissected.”

aim chat: JUNE SAT

I agree with all of Godot’s answers, especially the unusual number of “no responses” (5, at last count) in the larger writing section.

do you guys remember a math one with a square with two half circles inside it. and it was find the area of the circles. and im pretty sure the answer was 4pi.

d4r7h3v1,

Oh, right. I forgot I had an experimental CR section. I liked that section, too (paired passages on Venice). :)

but you can somewhat dissect the performance of a play scene. because it side by side and you can pick out elements of it.
