I know…fore about he essay, just give us our math and critical reading…i can probably wait for my writing score

ya i agree act gets them back sooner than cb but still it is too long. personally i think that they should have a machine like a little scantron in every class room that you put your test through you get the score and it saves it on a memory chip and when the machines get back to the cb they just take the chips out and upload them to thier database and online that way we could get our scores immediately besides for our essay.

if that is too impractical then they could at least put the scores online like a week after it is really cannot be that difficult.

does anyone remember any questions from the section 5 math experimental fill in?

Trying to effing trick me

lol…

if i’m not mistaken, the one about a rectangle L by 2L was 1/2L.
the total area would be 2L^2,
you cut it into 8 pieces, so the area of each would be (2L^2)/8 or (1/4)L^2
now the side of each of those squares is SQRT((1/4)L^2) or (1/2)L

I’m pretty sure it was (1/4)L. Don’t remember it now but I was sure when I did it.

for verbal…does any1 know for sure if the motorcycle question about attitude towards the TV is disdainful, resigned, or defiant??
disdain makes sense but its a bit too strong, and defiant makes sense cause like he rode his motorcylce in spite of the average “TV” life of slides or w.e

did you guys get 1/12 as an answer for that question where it was like m/q equals…

calgar could you try to work it out again? i’m absolutely sure it’s (1/2)L as well, but i may have answered the wrong thing. i believe it said the rectangle was Lx2L and you divided into 8 squares, and what is the length of a side of one of those squares?

tennis89, I put defiant. disdainful is extreme dislike, which I dont think he expressed in the passage. It seemed like he was defying TV by refusing to watch it and instead riding motorcycles. but i could be wrong, i’m not very good at CR

SZ 0626, i believe i got 1/12 as well.

aldeswari, thanks for the thought

any1 else have any ideas who think they’re particularly strong in CR? the question with defiant, desdainful, and resigned…

btw, the one with the squares is L/4, not L/2, im almost positive----just draw it out and its obvious b.c. the length is divided 4 times and the width, which is equal the half the length, is divided once, and since they are squares L/4 is right

aldeswari, I remember the question differently than you. If it was L by 2L then yeah it would be 1/2. I remember it was w by L, where L = 2w. So it would be L/2 by L, the L gets divided by four and L/2 by two, for L/4.

ahhh damn. i see what you mean now. i didn’t keep track of my variables right.

calgar what u put for the disdain/defiant/resigned question? or any1 else

I put disdainful… I’m not sure at all about it though. I definitely think resigned is wrong, resigned means like submissive and given up, and that wasn’t his attitude at all. I would think it would be between disdainful and defiant. Probably defiant now that I think more about it.

i’m pretty sure that it was disdain, because his attitude/tone towards television was definitely not positive. Resigned is a bit off, and defiant…not exactly. disdain …you look down on something/disapprove of it, and I think that was what he thought of TV. how it confines you and stuff. but now that calfar mentioned it, defiant could work too.
argh! looking through these threads, i probably missed like 10 CR already.

does anyone know what math question had (-2/3) as the answer?
i could’ve sworn that the answer was just 2/3

it was -2/3 cause the slopes had to equal

I opted for disdainful, but it seems that defiant might work as well. It’s like inaccessible/thwarted all over again, although I’m still sticking with disdainful!
