NONE of defiant’s definitions fit.
Contemptuous does fit, which is the 2nd definition of disdainful

damn it. fudge since i cant swear here.

are u kidding me? Im actually so ****ed right now.

NO!!! I was hoping for at least a 780. Ahhh Darn It. Ill just study a lot and do well on the SAT overall in October.

Here;s another definition of disdain (or disdainful)

DISDAIN b : lack of respect or reverence for something

now dont try to argue defiant anymore. It’s just not the best answer

lies, all lies! i admit i’m leaning towards disdain as well, just because it makes more sense. on the other hand, he IS boldly resisting his previous way of life as a city-dweller watching TV etc.etc.

The math scale is pretty harsh.
I missed 3 on march and that was a 720 ![]()
better get a 800 this time

I guess I got an easy SAT. I feel like I got 3 wrong overall at the worst. Like I said, anything less than 2300 and I retest.

It’s disdainful. Think about it like this. You’re trying to decide whether A or C is correct. C is actually A and B, so pick C. That way, you cover the bases. I mean anything that’s defiant is disdainful, but it isn’t the other way around…I feel like I didn’t present that argument effectively…Point is DISDAINFUL.

I HOPE YOU ALL DID WELL.

was the disadvantaged one no error? or is disadvantaged a mistake

Oh what the… Omg!!!.. I was hoping for an 800 in Math. Whats the use of being in calculus and not perfecting the math section on the SAT.

NO!!! It better be over 700 at least or else… I will just stop and like not go to college or anything.

OMG!!!

altruist thanks for the explaination but noone cares if ur gonna retest or not

i believe disadvantaged was no error.

“altruist thanks for the explaination but noone cares if ur gonna retest or not”

I suppose not. It’s like making small talk with the guy at the cash register-HE DOESN’T CARE! I appologize for rambling.

ya I think diadvantaged was no error

it’s ok xaltruistx, I would retest too if I didn’t get above 2300 :)

It’s odd tho. The college I really want to attend doesn’t have exceptionally high standards for the SAT. I just like reasoning tests. The SAT is like a junior IQ tests and IQ tests are fun…when they’re free and administered by a proper professional.

Rambling aside, why do anyof you want really high scores? What colleges are you looking at? Ivy League, I suppose.

Reed is the most prestigious college I’m looking into. The average GPA is like 3.9. My SAT is WAY below that, but, if I do well on the SAT and the rest of the admissions package, PrincetonReview says it’ll be a good match school.

rambling aside,

this is a thread about the official june 2nd SAT

not what you have in mind

In todays market and school admissions NOBODY can rely on Princeton Reviews match/safety. It is Way MORE competitive than Princeton is coming up with.

I know plenty of seniors this year had more than qualified for all the top Ivies, 2400’s perfect GPA’s all AP courses, Siemans semi finalists, etc. Very few got into their first choice. Don’t be too sure of even a safety these days.

ya I am looking at ivys

i think for top 10, a 2300+ will help. I know that people still get in with 2200s or even 2100s, but I can’t count on bein lucky. ;)

Reed is a really good college! very liberal!

Samiamy, where did those senior end up at?

hey do you guys remember a timber writing question? it went something like - timber is used for newspapers and something else.

quick question for you all: I took the SAT the other day and it was my second time. I prepared by doing about 9 tests. Should I try to take ACT standby on the 9th? I’ve never looked at anything ACT before, but obviously if I was going to take it I’d at least go over test structure and other basics. anyway should i jump into something like that or just take it another time when i’ve prepared specifically for it?

I remember for the timber and newspaper one, the correct choice had to do with putting an and between timber and newspaper

if you do standby for ACT it’s 82 dollars
yikes! If you really want to try, go to a library and do a practice test. See how you do.

hmm are you talking about the one where its like blah and blah are both made from timber?

if so, then i think its the one where it has an AND between the two things followed by made from timber
