oh yeah for those who had reading as an experimental section there were 4 sections with 24, 25, 23, and 18 questions. Would the 23 question passage be the experimental since it would not add up to the 67 if it was used?

i think it was def close knit. it even talked about how they were interested in him because they knew each other so well that they got bored with each other.

and btw andreaaaaaa you also said that tasteful was an answer somewhere but i think it was a wrong choice to the question defining exquisite and the answer was meticulous.

anyone talking about math?

oh ok. i just remember that it was a choice. thanks ill update that as well. are you sure about it though.

“so what did you describe the group as then?”
im not sure what the other choices were, but possibly judgmental because they were very judgmental towards other people whom they didnt accept in their friendship group.

IHaveAHobbie - I am pretty sure one of the real CR sections was 23 questions because i somewhat remember having one and my experimental was writing (section 4 and 5 were both writing)

what do you want to talk about sratman?

yeah sratman, i am pretty sure almost every answer was discussed.
i only got 1 MC wrong (the exponent one was 3/2 and i put 2/3) and i got 2 gridins wrong (the cutting corners from the cube one and the trapezoid one)

for a roman numeral math one, did you guys get both I and III? i cant remember the question though.

it’s II and III i think. the a>0 b<0 etc. etc.

no it was both II and III cause b could be negative or positive (it was squared) as long as a was positive (it was cubed)!

i got II and III for one of the roman numeral ones

the question said that a^3=b^2
which of the following could be true
II.a>0 b>0
III.a>0 b<0

now that i think about it maybe it was I. and III. i can’t remember the choices. sorry haha.

ok i might have got that also. but i remember for sure i had two out of the three choices.

this was such an easy math i am really annoyed that i got the like 5-6 wrong 3 of which were fill in

Since no one actually answered my request to defend his or her choice of choosing Sentence 5 as the one to delete in the braces passage (Improving Paragraphs), I’m going to answer my own question here.

On reflection, I actually do think that Sentence 5 was the best choice. ETS, I assume, is asking the test-taker to consider foremost the coherence of the paragraphs in selecting the sentence to delete. The first paragraph discusses primarily the disadvantages of having braces, so Sentence 5 is out of place there, even though it can be argued to logically follow from Sentence 4. If one were to use other considerations, however, one can probably argue for one or two of the other choices. I chose the last sentence of the passage because I believed it was somewhat redundant (the point was already made in the penultimate sentence). This question was definitely a poorly written one, in my view. The question should have read something like: The deletion of which of the following sentences would best improve the coherence of the paragraph of which the sentence is a part? (Yes, the question is a little wordy, but is much more clear.) The point of the question might have been clear to most of you, but I overthought the question, and a little clarification from ETS would have helped. By the way, this is the first time I have ever seen a question about the deletion of a sentence from the passage.

So, while I am not outright claiming that ETS produces fundamentally flawed questions, one or two questions on each administered exam seem to require a little more revision and polishing to render them perfect.

can someone explain to me how to do the vertices from the cube problem? it seems like once you cut off a corner of a cube there are no more lines touching therefore no more vertices? this is why i put 0 for that question, lol… completely wrong i know…

but there are more lines touching

i have such a love hate relationship with this forum…i love talking about the test and stuff but it makes me so nervous about my score…when does the SAS come out anyway?

aldeswari,
choice I was a<0, b>0 or b<0 but it cant be true because if a is cubed then its negative still and b is always positive because it is squared no matter if it was negative or positive as a number to the first degree.
