***OFFICIAL MARCH 2015 SAT (US ONLY)***

@Baikster‌ the answer was 48

@simplebio but do u remember the letter?

Just read through this whole thing. Heres my input:
I got a CR section about alaskan fishing and bears that I havent seen a single post about, so i assume that was exp.
I didnt put ingrained for the cultures and languages question, i put expediant and shortaighted. expedient means convenient but immoral.
i saw a lot of people saying the moms comment was sarcastic, but i put playful… she was like “a son and father hanging out together!” it didnt seem sarcastic to me as it did playful, as the two never hang out.
for command vs savor i put command, and here is my justification:

be in a strong enough position to have or secure (something).
“no party commanded a majority”

Also i think i completely bombed the essay… i wrote about eminem xD

@Baikster I believe it was C

ALSO i see a lot of people putting trivial for the quesrion about stephanies story telling, i put mundane and entertaining, look up mundane

personification or analogy? It said the tales were growing taller, but it did also say that it was a mosaic. Which one is right???

@willynilly123 this might be a bit much but do u remember the other letter answers i know how to do the question but im completely lost as to what i put. Was there a choice for 36? please help me remember, 36 was another choice for anthoer question which i may be scrambling up.

Regarding writing:

  • Constructed from is an idiom-- it’s constructed with/of – got this wrong :frowning:
  • was it “did theirs” or “did their’s” and can someone explain if it was fine?
    -i thought the error for sheep was “its”?
  • isn’t at once incorrect because it is a word pair? At once + and
    At once humilated and sad
    The sentence lacked “and”.
    Regarding math- I drew it out and got the 7th circle?

Wait I think I just came up with an explanation for the question about the mail carrier.
Consider the answer choice about not listening to advice:
The first passage merely states that while most merchant ships used information about the gulf stream to navigate easily, mail carriers did not do so. To say that the reason why the mail carriers failed to do so was that they refused to listen to advice is speculation; for all we know they could’ve been unaware, unintelligent, ignorant, etc.
The second passage states that mail carriers were among the “foolish” who didn’t use maps of the gulf stream. A map of the gulf stream doesn’t provide advice; again, we don’t really know whether they’ve actually received advice and thus can’t really say that they’ve made an active decision to disregard advice.
Now consider the answer choice about wandering off path:
The first passage supports this pretty clearly by noting that the mail carriers took longer to sail because they ended up on wrong paths.
The second passage also supports this answer choice because it depicts them as foolish. The use of the word “foolish” connotes the exact opposite of the situation described right before it: Knowledge of the Gulf Stream helped many sailors navigate the sea. Thus, it is implied that the mail carriers weren’t able to navigate the sea effectively because they didn’t use maps of the gulf stream. How does failing to use a map connect to this idea? A map provides information about the most effective paths to take, so failing to use a map leads one to take the wrong path. In context, this means that the mail carriers went astray because they didn’t follow the gulf stream, the “path”.

@Baikster If you’re talking about the same question, others said that choice E said 36.
@Allude Constructed from? which question is that?
I believe the answer was No Error, but I put “did theirs.” You definitely don’t put an apostrophe to correct it, it’s already possessive.
Yes, the error for the sheep one was its.
I don’t think so, pretty sure the answer to the skiing one was No Error.
No, it was the 5th circle.

Some say the ans for sheep was “are” (change to is)

@Allude Are wasn’t even underlined

Could someone estimate my score? Ahhhhh, it would be very very appreciated! 。:゚(;´∩`;)゚:。

Essay: Probably around a 11? I used three examples, a counter, and general SAT vocab here and there.
Math: Missed 2-3 probably. (Although one may have been experimental…)
Reading: Missed 2 on sentence completion.

Writing: Veerrryyy confident I got an 800 on the MC.

Reading these 80-some pages of answer debates have been freaking me out, jeez.

@willynilly but if u chose 48 which is C im pretty sure SAT orders the multiple choice from least to greatest so im wondering why E would be 36 and C would be 48

Are you guys sure about at once? Erica’s book on WR tells otherwise about the word pair.

@rhubarber I’d say high 2200s to low 2300s. Depends on how many reading you missed. Missing that many math will bring down your score.
@Baikster No, they don’t always do that

was the math section with the standard deviation (the 24 hour pill), and the daily high and low temperatures for cities b and a, and the decibel measures change, experimental?? HELP!

Any way someone could estimate what my essay score would be? We all had the same prompt and I immediately decided I would do the tried-and-true method of five paragraphs - first paragraph would be the intro/thesis/state-the-examples, second would be the first example, third would be the second, fourth would be the third and final example, and the fifth paragraph would be the conclusion, summarizing the idea but broadening the scope. I think that plan I had in mind would be obvious to the essay grader, because I used somewhat broad descriptions in the first paragraph and stated the three examples I would use - the plan was clearly laid out.

However, I had only finished the first three paragraphs of the essay, and I don’t know how much that will affect my grade. Let’s assume my spelling and grammar, sentence variation, etc. were all up to par (because they were, in my opinion) and my two examples of self-discipline (the life and work of Jackie Chan and Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption) were well-developed and contributed to the thesis. What’s my expected score without that third example (which was going to be Shakespearean, I guess) and a concluding paragraph?

@Jamesesesess‌ I did the same thing with my essay. I’m really worried about it being considered veerj g off topic.

What was the one about like what is the passage about van gogh and dickinson saying? Like their works were not appreciated till after their life or something was a choice?
