I dont see how it could be undercut…deference because the lines talked about how when he walked in to the house with his dad in it, it was like going from a busy street into a temple. So that wouldnt show that he undermined his respect for his father, rather a contrast between his outside life and his life with his father.

I hope my essay was alright. I had the self-discipline prompt, so I had my introduction, two examples, and conclusion. I really think I veered off topic some… And my examples were shaky. I was essentially saying that self-discipline entails achievement and therefore happiness, and talked about Warren Buffet’s discipline in the markets, especially during the internet boom, and then my second example was about a fake Chinese General Xai Seo of 700 A.D. who was rewarded for his Confucian, self-disciplined life approach.
