*Official May 6th SAT Discussion*

HPM Twista. The answer was C. HE AGREES. I got conrfused by that one too because the question asked how the AUTHOR of passage one respond to passage 2. The AUTHOR of P1 agrees that science cant measure everything therefore he would agree with P2.

what did u guys get for one of short passages…the question where it asks you why they ask u about the thing in the parenthesis…the question about girl and some guy moving in and out? was she an erratic teen?

thanks!

worth2try - year 11. Still doing maths, I have never seen that thing in my life. It must be American.

“What’s the difference between docile and taciturn?”

If someone is taciturn then he/she is untalkative or silent. If someone is docile then he/she is easily managed or controlled.

Exactly. The sentence completion asked for the opposite of “intractable”, or unmanageable.

yeah. I started with taciturn but luckily I had time left at the end of the section and was able to change to docile.

OH CRAP i put taciturn!!! :frowning:
i was choosing between taciturn and docile, too.

Damn I thought intractable meant something like noisy…

So to my question in page 59, is it agreeing or disagreeing and did you guyz put a), b), c), d), or e)??

So far i hear, c) and d) or e)

Oh shoot… I put taciturn too… I think my scores in every section on this testing are going to be lower than my last testing…

Are proctors supposed to announce when 5 minutes are remaining in each section?

Does anyone remember the problem that was something like…
If f(2)= 7 and f(12)= 1, then what does f(6 or something) = ?

Please let me know the answer?

And, was this on an experimental section?

Wait a minute. What was that question with taciturn and docile?

my proctor didnt give us 5 min warning either…main reason i screwed up in the essay…urrgg…anywho…i have to guess this one…

f(2)…is y and 7 was X…so it be like (7,2)
same for the other one… f(12) was y…1 was X so (1, 12)
i put in the graphin calculator…and it give you slope and y inter cept…i think i put the answer as 4…

i think i am wrong…but it is an idea…lol

I got 4 for that one Still, but at this point, I’m not confident about any of my math answers (that >100 one broke me), so I couldn’t tell you for sure if my answer was right.

that question f(1)=12 and the answer is 4…the actual question number was 20 and the answer was (d) right?

I think it was worded like this:

On line l, A is located at (2,7) and B is located at (12, 1).
What is f(7).

Okay, so you find the slope of the line.
Slope = -6/10 (or -3/5)

Using -3/5, if you move from A down 3 and then right 5, you wind up at the x-coordinate of 7, and the y coordinate 4.

Therefore the answer is 4.
I believe it was C or D.

on the writing section, the questions for the passage (like the last set of question in the 35 question section), did you guys get a lot of a’s for the last 4-5?

Yep! I got 3 of them in a row.

Was the f(7) problem on the experimental section?

Also, was the problem with the 3-4-6 triangle on the experimental section?
