Just wondering if your student athletes recently received an exorbitantly high-interest credit card solicitation from Capital One, with the NCAA logo on the envelope? It came to our home address yesterday. I wanted to know if non-athletes also got this, or whether perhaps the NCAA or my child’s university sold her name and information. I am not happy about it, but I’m not sure what, if anything I’d do about it…

We did not, but both my kids get them on occasion. Actually I am glad about it because I would like both kids to start to get their own credit. Our son got a card in his name alone but they limited it to $500. He pays it off every month. It is the only way that I know of for him to start to establish his own credit. If the balance is paid in full each month then the interest rate should not matter. Just my 2 cents…
