@efr009 @CaliCash It’s true. I was offered a free flight if I agree to go to a special 3 day program (april12-april14) I just figured everyone was offered this but now I guess not. Do you know how they choose us?
@youngm0rphine, you have to be someone that NU really wants (URM …). April 13 is one of the Wildcat Days for admitted students. I am not sure what program/school you are in. April 12 is a Sunday and no staff would be on campus.
It’s for high achieving students that they really want. Not just URMs. They are paying to fly out a select group of admitted students and they are flying them out for several days. Just called
ACCEPTED WOOHOO
So, I got waitlisted, and I’m pretty sure part of it was because of a lack of demonstrated interest. I live about 3 hours away from Northwestern and never got the chance to visit… If I were to visit now, would it do anything to help get me in off the waitlist??
@efr009 I was accepted to Weinberg. It said in the email the 3 day program is a special event, and that I would be staying with a student on campus for the duration of the event. I am African-American so perhaps they are seeking URM’s? @CaliCash is this what the person from NU specifically told you when you called?
@youngm0rphine It’s saddens me to see how many people use their minority status as a reason for their successes. You’re so much more than that.
I just said it’s for high achieving students. It’s not a minority day. It’s for high achieving students. Any admitted student can go on the 13th, but the 3 day stay is for high achieving students. It has nothing to do with your race.
@caliCash is right, you guys should be proud of the invitation, because it’s definitely not for all URM! I am one and was not invited, but congratulations to those who were! I hope you guys go, take advantage of the opportunity, and perhaps I’ll see you next fall.
FA decisions come out tonight, and they will be available at our caesar accounts. Can everybody access theirs?
i clicked view my fin aid on ceasr it says unavailible. what should i do?
Financial aid is up for anyone wondering.
my financial aid still says it’s unavailable
We got NU admissions packet today. Son was able to go in and activate NetID and create his NU email account. Admin letter says “You have the ability to check the receipt status of your financial aid materials by accessing the ‘To Do Item History’ link in your CAESAR account (24 hours after activating your NetID). You will also be able to view your award in CAESAR as soon as it is mailed by accessing the ‘View Financial Aid’ link.” So – looks like we’ll find out the offer tomorrow evening.
Still can’t see NU financial aid offer, so guess it wasn’t mailed on March 30 like the financial aid site said it would be. Has anyone else received theirs, by mail or online?
No. I spoke to someone in the FA office this morning and they said it should be posted tonight, tomorrow night at the latest. But, still not up. Trying not to get anxious. 8-X
When I sent email inquiry to financial aid office today, was told our son’s offer is in data entry and being proofed and should be available to view on CAESAR “by the end of the week.” Long time to wait, but at least we know to wait. Must be like someone else said, that FA offers are being released in batches. Our input info was also held up by the big backlog at IDOC, so that could be part of the delay, also.
I definitely over reacted to the phone thing. It sucked, but I’m over it now. We were both stressed lol and I was anxious
@NMSmom1977 called FA office yesterday and they said my offer was just processed and that it was an “overnight process” and I should be able to view it by the end of today, so far haven’t seen anything yet but hopeful that if not today it will be up by the end of the week like you said
@GianRaf Son’s FA offer went live for him tonight, sometime after 9 p.m. CDT, so maybe yours will be up sooner rather than later, too. Good luck!
financial aid came in today which surprised me considering i only sent in my css profile/tax return a week and a half ago. I got 40,000 in scholarship
@youngm0rphine I sent in my IDOC last week and got it today. I got $21,000. Not great, but I can do loans for NU.
