They usually wait until the school day is over (to minimize stress, if that’s even possible lol). So maybe 3pm at the earliest?
Yeah if it is today (which I doubt for some reason) it would probably be sometime between 3pm-6pm
And decisions are released over email right?
@NickDS I would assume so, considering that they never sent us the information to the portal. Maybe they’ll just send us a link to the portal with the login information. Idk though
I might be wrong but I feel like decisions are going to be released tomorrow. I don’t think Northwestern and UChicago would do it on the same day
Yesterday my friend who got in ED got an email saying that Northwestern would soon be admitting the rest of the class of 2020 and that they wanted everyone to post #NU2020 so that they could unify the regular and ED applicants.
The waiting is horrible. I almost wish S had not put himself through this. I don’t know why it’s so secretive. I don’t think it’s too much to ask the school to give an actual update on the decision date as we get closer to the deadline. Hang in there everyone. No matter where you end up, you have shown that you are capable great things. This is just your beginning…
@ebandflo Especially since admissions clearly knows when it will be. It’s not like it’s back in January where they don’t know for sure.
For everyone who knows other people from their school who applied, is that a weird dynamic? I feel like I’d feel so uncomfortable competing with my friends.

My friend just called the school today, and they said that decisions would be released by April 1st, even though on their Twitter they specifically said this week.
@eskaliding Pretty much every school says they’ll release decisions by April 1st; it doesn’t actually mean anything except for the fact that they absolutely must notify everyone by the 1st. Most schools release decisions earlier — this week or next week.
Typically schools won’t admit a date when you ask, but it is weird considering the school has technically already said which week it would be. @eskaliding
