@jacobpilawa I got waitlisted by MIT but flat out rejected from uchicago so I’m getting mixed messages from these schools lol

Music admissions officer said as of noon today undergrad admissions said most likely Friday or beginning of next week. It might be today though.

Me too, I just want to know…
My daughter got flat out rejected from UChicago with a perfect ACT score and a 4.4 GPA, captain of a varsity sport, 8 varsity letters and tons of community service, and she was an engineering major. So much for needing female engineers. Their loss.

just curious but are female engineers still so “rare” today?
I don’t know if this has been posted before but the tweet saying that decisions would be released next week from last week is gone as well as the tweet that said decisions would be in an email at least and possibly in the mail. it was there yesterday when i looked for it but gone today.
Not sure if it’s out yet but I got in ED and the admins on the Facebook group reposted a welcome post so decisions might come out today if they haven’t already
@cutters sorry to hear your news about UChicago. Very surprising given that the national average for women engineers are about 19%. My guess is that they thought she was going to MIT or Stanford and didn’t want to waste an offer to lower their yield.

Your daughter sounds extraordinarily talented. I’m sure she’ll do well at whichever college she chooses. I should note that UChicago has very little in the way of engineering, unlike MIT or CalTech or many other schools.
