I believe that my letters of recommendation were strong; I was able to get to know my professors very well.

I think my essay was good. Clever intro and ending, but the main part of the essay was pretty straight forward as far as what I like about NU. This essay was basically the same as the one for freshmen applicants last year; I applied last year and got rejected, so I was able to learn from my mistakes (haha I looked over my old essay and it wasn’t that great).

Since I applied last year, I requested for my file to be reopen. I am not sure if that had any impact on my acceptance.

I had also requested to hear my decision as soon as possible, so don’t lose hope if you haven’t heard yet! Best of luck to everyone.

^transfercenteal - i thought it would be arduous to be accepted as a transfer when you were denied as an entering freshman, so what aspects of your application changed?

Can people also post their stats as they post their decisions. That would be appreciated.

@pokemonfan - I also applied for admission as an incoming freshman, was rejected and was accepted as an incoming sophomore

This is killing me…

Anybody heard anything from them yet? I think admissions said they would try and have all the decision out by the beginning to middle of this week right? Well let’s hope we even hear from them by the end of this week, then.

Goodluck everyone! And try not to lose hope!

I think we will. I’m so nervous I can’t take it!

^ I know how you feel! I feel like I have a chance and I’m already picturing myself in Evanston; I’ll be really crushed if I don’t make it in

I’ve started growing a beard and I won’t shave again until I hear back from NU and know where I’m going to school next year. It’s already pretty gross. I hate this.

Ughhh…another day. I really hoped today would be the day.

Still haven’t heard anything from them yet :(. Technically Wednesday is the middle of the week, which is when admissions said they’d try to have decisions out by…but I’m not gonn get my hopes up. All decisions need to seriously be out by Friday

I heard back today and got in!! So excited, will hopefully be joining given finances!

Congratulations!!! mind posting your stats?

My ACT was a 31 and college GPA around a 3.7 so those aren’t really that special. What probably pushed me over the top was essays, extracurrics, my research and my letters of rec. To me those stats seem like middle of the pack if not lower end of their accepted students. I did however have a fellowship, a policy internship at Chicago City Hall (along with other random stuff) and my research is becoming a mandatory curriculum for incoming freshmen at my current uni.

your stats seem great to me! You clearly deserved it. Congrats again :)

@jhoops: congrats! What time did you receive your email?

Lol, I’m still waiting. Hopefully Friday will be the day!

Thanks guys, I received my e-mail around 1:29 P.M. yesterday

Don’t really feel like posting this, but I promised myself that I would no matter what.

Rejected today, around 4:30
